I think he is going the Euro title route - was scheduled to fight Cedric Vitu for the sister version of the Euro title on the Mitchell vs Katsidis undercard, but Vitu pulled out. Think it is being rescheduled soon.

 Well given their respective results against Maxwell what's so audacious about mentioning Aaron? He's certainly more worthy as things stand.

I think thats a very good point. Just being a prospect , in itself, shouldn't ever be seen as qualification for challenging for the British Title.

Was Maxwell winning the bout?
no maxwell wasnt winning the bout brian was up 4 rounds to 1.. and got caught with a shot that would knock any light-middle.. middle or super middlweight boxer out, how some of you can have the ordasity to come on here and say he was never worthy of being put in for a british title fight is beyond me yet you come up with names like prince arron and alex matvienko.. you have obviously never watched brian box in any length of time.. i hope he proves every last one of you wrong.

I have actually, ive watched the majority of his fights. And IN MY OPINION I think that both Prince and Alex would be too strong for Brian and outwork and outstrength him. I wish Brian well and hope he does come back strong and think he will. But boxing fans have different opinions, different styles they enjoy to watch and predicions as to how fights will end, its not about proving anyone wrong.

I've seen a fair few Rose fights to be honest and tho he's clearly a 'decent' prospect, I just don't think he has lit any spark with me or had me noting him as a top ten domestic fighter at his weight (surely defining factors in getting a british title shot?).

Someone like Prince Arron is quite far ahead of him I would say, in terms of who he has faced, at what level and how much improvement he has made in the last couple of years.

Arron has names like Cello Renda, Max Maxwell etc on his record, not to mention a Prizefighter win in with good british level people like Bradley Pryce, Flourney and Hillyard. Who on his slate does Rose have who is equivalent to those guys? I would say none.

PS it's AUDACITY. :-)

So let's say he struggled past Maxwell to a points win then as you suggested he was going to as you had it 4-1 up (?? hmm).

I still wouldn't see his showings and record prior to that as any evidence to me that he was ready for a British title shot. There are several more deserving cases. Adam - You don't seem to be actually reading the content of anyone's posts, rather you seem blinded by your devotion to Brian Rose. You a family member or a mate? Which one?

double negative there,. it isnt a spelling contest.
"Isnt no spelling" contest means that it is one.

for someone with 6 posts you certianly are very vitriolic about what people do on here?

perhaps if you contributed a little more then folk may be willing to listen, people with 6 posts backing a particular fighter rarely get taken seriously.

Just trying to help :TU:

It was up to interpretation whether Maxwell was winning the fight or not, but it was very close without a doubt. I didn't understand the matchmaking in this fight, due to it basically being a tune-up for Rose - they could have picked a easier opponent than Maxwell (who gives everyone a good fight), especially when they were looking at a British title shot next.

Brave matchmaking that sadly backfired, but I hope Rose can come back from the defeat and get into domestic title contention. I was really looking forward to Webb vs Rose as well...
OK, it didn't work out, but sensible matchmaking , because a boxer needs a proper test before challenging for the title- "getting in the trenches" to box a victory etc . When a fighter hasn't had that kind of experience, they might struggle when suddenly faced witha good opponent in a title fight.

I hope Brian is ok and there is no repurcusions from the heavy KO loss but I would like to also say well done to Boxrec's jonp and Max Maxwell.

A great win for the Brummie underdogs! :TU:
Thanks Terry we have put forward Max to take Brians Title shot. Max is improving all the time and is a work in progress.I dont think any of the unbeaten prospects would be unbeaten if theyd taken the fights max has taken.
Hopefully something good will come of it and max was back in gym today working on his skills trying to improve from some of the mitake we saw in the rose fight
