Two boys who normally fight on the same cards in Newport against each other there. Turley v Arthur.
I actually quite fancy Arthur to win this now.
Re: Prizefighter - Super Bantamweight Draw
Thanks for that and x 2 Arthur for me - top half of the draw looks tough to meGazMan85 wrote:Deno1986 wrote:QUARTER FINALS

Re: Prizefighter - Super Bantamweight Draw
think owen will win this now hes got the easier draw
Re: Prizefighter - Super Bantamweight Draw
Why has Ricky Owen been so inactive recently - only one fight in nearly two years? PF isn't exactly the best stage to shake off ring rust.

i think if they keep to a good standard of fighter , or even ones that are recognisable names then they can keep growing in popularity , but i know this super bantamweight tournament hasnt really caught many peoples imagination , so maybe if it doesnt do so well , they might think of making a few changes , i for one would like to see international fighters come in to it and maybe do like a build up program to it , it would come across maybe like contender but at least all the fights would be shown live and in one night , build a bit of a relationship between the fighters and the fans and i believe that even if lesser names are included there will still be good viewing figures due to the build up . would only need 1 build up program of maybe an hour in length , show a little bit of footage of training and interviews with the competitiors and then maybe a highlight reel to end the show.

I agree about the international fighters. Only problem with that maybe that they start bringing in some of the Euro Journeymen in which would ruin the show for me.
I must say I really enjoy prizefighter. It is one of the only contests that MAKES the boxers go straight out and try to win the match (if that make sense).
Cant wait for Arthur V Turley, purely because I've watched them both fight numerous times. Turley always brings a good following, so would be good if some of them travelled to support him.
Here's a recent interview with Turley

Re: Prizefighter - Super Bantamweight Draw
Willie Casey will win this easy, saw him fighting in Limerick last year and he battered his man.
He is just back from Canada where he stopped an undefeated boxer there,he also is the highest ranking boxer here tonight and he is 11/2 with the bookies which is savage value, get on fast you were told.

Re: Prizefighter - Super Bantamweight Draw
Someone mentioned Holyfield and Tyson for a heavy prizefighter. What would you guys think of that?
Normally, I'd be against them fighting but the format may suit them and they are huge names. Plus they could do with the money! Riddick Bowe too.
Imagine....Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, Skelton, Sprott and then maybe a few of these up and coming domestic heavies. They are the types of line ups they have to go for in my opinion to take the format forward. A couple of big domestic names, a couple of big int'l names with some prospects.
Regarding the SBW show, looks like there could be a few scraps on it!
