Create your own stable

Post by punchoutsb »

If you could pick FIVE fighters from any era, any weightclass, and have them fight for you today, who would you pick and where would you want them to compete at?

Although my list would change day by day, at this point in time these five will be mine :D :

Heavyweight: Jim Jeffries

Cruiserweight: Rocky Marciano

Light Heavyweight: Gene Tunney

Light-Middleweight to Super-Middleweight: Harry Greb

Middleweight: Joe Choynski

Ali

Leonard

De La Hoya

Mayweather

Tyson

This was easy for me.

The amount of cash I would be raking in would be ridiculous.

It's interesting to me that no one has picked SRR yet. He would easily be on my list pretty much any given day. Today I was feeling a little more like the old timers and a few of my mainstays like Rocky. SRR would be so easy to market today it'd be rediculous. He'd probably be a billion dollar fighter.

I went for excitement in most of my choices, and I like Tunney. With any of them, I'd be making enough money to not need more.

There, we get to the crux of the thread. Fvck picking the best. It's my stable --- I'm going for the cash-cows.

I'd have thought someone like Ray Robinson today would be making far more than Mayweather.

He would, but Grimm's post, regardless of who he picked, clearly indicates he understands the best answer --- pick money-men.
