Hypothetically who would win V.Klitscko or Tyson

Post by damianhucker1 »

Im by no means trying to compare Klit to the greats , but just thinkibg about all the criticism the K brothers get , and got me thinking , styles wise and physical wise im not sure tyson would beat either klit , as good as Iron Mike was in his prime , i dont think his lack of height would have been too good vs either of the brothers , im thinking that maybe if people are thinking Tyson couldnt beat them then maybe it will put into perspective how well the Klitschkos have dominated the heavyweight scene of late , they may be on the slide a bit now , but i think a lot of how people say the heavyweight scene isnt strong anymore is caused by how they dominate anyone else out there nowdays .

Im sure ill get hammered on here now for these questions , but offer your opinions .

a think aprime Tyson would have been able to bob and weave get in close to pound away at there body
maybe wouldnt knock them out early but would take it to late stages or maybe even points.

Wlad is the better boxer but I don't see him keeping out a prime Tyson and his chin would not survive. Vit would be a more interesting prospect even though he isn't as good a boxer as Wlad.

... not sure about the results... but he'd have found Vitali's style VERY inconvenient to deal with...

would have favoured the prime iron mike to get the job done.

but not the mid 90's version.

vitali would have outboxed that version i reckon. :box:

wladimir would have been bounced around like bunnies by both versions. :)

Prime Tyson would knock Vlad out very early, Vitali would last a lot longer.
Mid 90s Tyson would still knock out Vlad but Vitali would be a tough proposition at this stage.
Vitali would beat the early 2000s version of Tyson who lost to Lewis and Danny Williams quite easily. Vlad may still get knocked out because his chin is brittle china and Tyson can always punch

I'd heavily favour Vitali here. Prime Tyson gets vastly overrated, and I don't think he'd have hung in there with Vitali. Can't see him stopping Vitali except on cuts, and for me he doesn't get in enough to land enough. Vitali would wear him down to a 9th or 10th round KO.

Similar story with Wlad, except there's a high chance of a surprise KO. Wlad is very adept at not getting hit though. 60-40 Wlad. The styles are just all wrong for Mike.

Tyson loved the big tall types, he would undermine the jab with head movement and then just ram-man them into the ropes and let the fury fly.

tyson vs kiltscko

Post by boxerbob »

anybody who thinks that one of the drago brother beats tyson needs to take up a new sport

this will be the drago brother tactics , the same in every fight

jab , jab , right hand....slowly , repeat 1000000 times

tyson kos wlad in 2 , vitali is bust up and stopped in 5

I think even at his best Mike would have had some serious difficulties with a huge, strong, smart, and durable fighter like VK. Looking at his record, there are a handful of fighters who went the distance or into the latter rounds with Tyson even before he lost to Douglas. I think Vitali would go the distance and I would give him a shot at beating a prime Tyson. Mid 90's Tyson would be beaten by Vitali. The people who suggest Tyson would get Vitali out of there early or beat him without any troubles are very much mistaken, in my opinion.

Wlad could cause any version of Tyson problems with his jab and size, but I would think a prime Tyson would catch him eventually.

Cuts would always be a possibility if Tyson could get to VK often enough.

Just shows how bad the heavyweight scene is when these too have , dominated long enough for people to even suggest they would off compared with a prime Tyson , Question should be how would a Prime Ali , Foerman , off dealt with a prime Tyson

Prime Foreman takes him out in 5 rounds. Prime Ali plays with him a bit before a KO 10. Tyson is vastly, vastly overrated.

I don`t think the prime Tyson is overrated at all.

He was by far the quickest heavyweight we have ever seen and his aggression was immense. He would have destroyed both Klits by brutal KO. They would not have the defence to keep him off and Wlad in particular would have been like a rabbit in headlights.

There was a couple of years when Tyson was utterly brilliant. He burned out quickly though when the lifestyle took over from his boxing. However aged 19 - 21 he was simply awesome and had far too much speed for the likes of the Klits.

Prime lennox v Prime Tyson - lennox would only just get my bet. Prime Vitali v Overweight end of his career Lewis - vitali lost.

I honestly think it would be like Tyson v Berbick.

Infinitely better? Berbick was a big, strong, quick, two-handed fighter who went 15 rounds with a peak Larry Holmes and scored several shock wins, including the win over Thomas for the title. He really earned that shot.
I remember they brought over Berbick to defend his Commonwealth title against Frank Bruno in 1984 but they put him in with Mark Lee first in a 10-rounder at Wembley to really check him out. Berbick dished out a horrible pasting to the gutsy American and was immediately sent packing.

And Vitali is a much bigger, stronger, more powerful fighter with an iron jaw. Berbick wasn't that big, he was at least 3/4 inches shorter than Vitali.

Don't fall into the trap of assuming that bigger is better. I suppose Vitali is better than Sam Langford, too.

if semi retired saunders could brutalize Wlad, I shudder to think what Prime Mike wouldve done.

And people go overboard on Vitali being the "better brother" cos he gave lennox fits for 5 rounds. Lennox was coming on in that fight, finding a home for those uppercuts, i reckon cut or not, that fight wouldve been a lennox win.
