Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
I think McDermott will win on points - hope so - Fury very over-hyped. Why McDermott has never made more of an effort to shed a lot of that fat I don't know why - he's a pretty talented domestic-level boxer and prob could of had a more successful career.

Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
The rematch that had to happen happens later this month in Brentwood between unbeaten Tyson Fury and unlucky John McDermott for the English heavyweight title (June 25).
Fury, a giant of a man with all the chat, took a horrible 10-round decision over McDermott last September from referee Terry O'Connor, the sole arbiter and a former heavyweight pro himself. It was arguably the worst verdict on these shores since David Barnes took a 12-round decision over Jimmy Vincent for the British welterweight title on a sweltering night in Dagenham in July 2003, courtesy of referee John Keane. Vincent never got a deserved rematch.
Fury was just 7-0 going in but all his fights had been televised, a run of quick, eyecatching wins, and he loomed so large and talked such a great fight that people were swayed. On the night the battle-hardened McDermott, who had challenged for the British heavyweight title three times, punched through the hype and was in surprisingly good shape for a man of his fleshy disposition, although Fury is also blubbery. McDermott kept on punching and looked well worth the English belt that instead went to Fury, who doesn't give the decisions and does the right thing in his first defence.
Who will have learned more? Fury, in my opinion - he will have improved. A hard distance battle was just what he needed to bring him on and he has come back with two easy wins, whereas McDermott has lurked on the sidelines and remained inactive. Yes, McDermott is on his own Essex manor but he will never come as close again to beating the Cheshire giant.
Fury, this time, takes a deserved decision.

Wasn't Vincent belatedly offered one then took a richer nonsense fight with someone else? He did win the fight. I'd say the Kelly v Spaniard decision was worse? Was it Kelly....was he Spanish....hazy.bennie wrote:The rematch that had to happen happens later this month in Brentwood between unbeaten Tyson Fury and unlucky John McDermott for the English heavyweight title (June 25).

Vincent got rewarded with Eammon Magee.Kelly lost to an Italian, and despite everyone watching on Sky and in the hall thought he won,he lost unanimously, one score was wide and he was at home!
Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
mcdermott stands and watched fury tko himself in the first. does not break sweat.
you heard it here first

Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
Fury is Emotionally crippled by the next instalment of online Insults from Andre Dirrel and never laces a glove again
Mcdermot then fights Del boy and Wins the British title

Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
I predict Fury will withdraw with a bad back
Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
In the first fight Fury thought he could rip through any british heavyweight? then he found out he couldnt!
I think he will have learned from that and win the rematch fairly easy on points.

Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
Hi Guys - McDermott has been trained by Jimmy McDonnell, and is fitter than his ever been. Fury won't live with the fast pace that the camp will set, he will be ok for 3 rounds, then he will slow. I take McDermott to stop Fury in 6. Remember Jimmy trained Herbie Hyde and Danny Williams and both of them didn't do to bad undr him.

Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
Has fury learnt enough with the last two eejits he fought? If he cant fight any better than he did last time against JMcD then he loses. Again. He wins if he improves; but is it in him to do so? his power limits have been made visible and his skillset is not the greatest.
Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
Fury KO's himself in the 5th round. (if he even turns up)

Re: Fury v McDermott - Predictions, thoughts?...
I'm glad to hear McD is being trained by McDonnell. no doubt he'll be ready to go the full 12, he always is anyway. He knows he beat Fury last time and has the confidence behind him. He also dislikes Fury and wants to get the win. Fury is as ambitious as they come and will not be a pushover. It shapes up to be a decent fight. The odds are unreal. McD is a massive underdog. At those odds, he has to be backed.

Who fancies a pint before in the Robin Hood and Little John? its between the A128 and the Doddinghurst Road so chances are you will come past it on the way to the venue - half a mile away

No worries bennie,
As for this fight. Can't wait to be honest. Fury's continual silence oes bother me though. I like the John odds so I going to bite at overall winner and winner by stoppage
