A few rumours floating around but nothing concrete yet..I would have thought an announcement would have happend by now. What has been said is the fight in July and another in December (which is said to be huge and not Mundine !!) will both be at ACER.
This info was received third hand and not from anybody in the Green camp. Gets the mind ticking though. Hopefully soke announcement tomorrow, it was to be this week.

The front runner in the "rumours" has been Briggs. i see Briggsy has come out in the paper and called on Greeny. I thought the fight would have been announced by now (this week) but they may have hit a stumbling block. I read an article lately re Cameron, green would have to go to Heavyweight to fight him, Cameron stated he couldnt get down low enough to fight Green.
I'm still hopeful of the Briggs fight, amybe the feelers are getting put out to see what interest in generates in mainstream media..

as much as i like briggs and green and i would like to see it however i just cant see it being much of a war. maybe if it happend a few years ago. ?

is briggs just trying to cash in on green? or is he genuinley try8ing to prove himself?

i'd doubt that the general public would have any idea who the hell paul briggs is.

i've never seen him in the paper or on the news.

some people would know his face from the contender show, but would probably know very little about him.

the guy is a top fighter who deserves a good payday, but i don't think he could handle danny green at the present time. look at how rusty meehan was after a very long break, albeit meehan did fight a guy ranked just behind the klit brothers.

I don't know about that buster. He has a book that has sold a lot of copies and he is very well known in brisbane. He has featured in stories in the courier mail a few times

if both fought each other in their prime ( whenever that would have been for either is not important ) then they deserve massive money, cause it would be a bash fest. they'd kill each other probably. to think that mosely and mayweather got huge money for a snooze fest.

Danny Green will defend his world title against Paul Briggs

June 02, 2010 Danny Green will make the third defence of his IBO cruiserweight boxing world title against ring rusty countryman Paul Briggs in Sydney on July 21.

Queenslander Briggs, who twice fought Poland's Tomasz Adamek for a light heavyweight world title, will end a three-year absence from the ring when they clash at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

He has not fought since February 2007, having battled health issues which have since been resolved.

But, after watching Green's last four fights from ringside as a television commentator, Briggs believes he can upset Green and claim his title.

"I'm in great shape, my version of out of shape is the average person's super fit," said Briggs at Wednesday's fight announcement.

Briggs (26-3) will prepare for the fight in Sydney under trainer Billy Hussein.
Green (10-29-3) said he had everything to lose and Briggs had everything to gain from their fight.

The two men indulged in some torrid sparring sessions several years ago.

"There was a lot of blood, a lot of sweat and lot of injuries and there was a lot of respect," Green said of his sparring sessions with Briggs.

Marlin, you are going to have to take Thursday off !! I am there. Name the pub before hand....
As far as the fight goes, I am excited. People will say Briggsy needed a warm up but I doubt Green has ever fought anybody who punches as hard as Briggs and we know Green can be hit.
My WA patriotism will have me cheering for Green, but I just hope we get the war these two deserve.
