The guy is a lightweight ... surely a light-welter world champion should defend the title against worthy challengers from the same weight?

Katsidis has fallen short of the very best at lightweight .. its just another gimmee fight for Khan as far as I`m concerned :shame:
khan would be way too good in my opinon for katsidis but kat will still have power at lww!! and is a pressure fighter who COULD give khan problems.

The thing is - Prescott has been shown a few times since to be just not that good. A crude guy with above average punch power. Who got lucky against the fragile chinned Khan.

And since when was a world title challenger good enough just because he is the 'gatekeeper' in a lower weight category?

Unless a challenger from a lighter weight has shown he is dominant there - something Katsidis has not - then the champion should look to the weight above if he has no worthy challengers from his own division.

Maidana, if not, Prescott to wipe the slate clean, then Maidana. He's got to fight a puncher sometime.

He just has to unify the division and fight Bradley, Alexander and Maidana.

Once he has done that and given that he is successful, he can then move up to welterweight. As daft as it sounds now, he could be in a position to face Mayweather in 3 or 4 years time, given that Mayweather hasn't retired. I personally don't see Bradley, Alexander or Maidana giving Khan much trouble. The only chance they have is if they catch him flush and that's always a possibility, especially with Maidana. Once he moves up to welterweight a lot of the current crop will have gone off the boil or moved up another weight divsion. The reason i see Mayweather as a potential opponent is that he will still be at a fantastic standard, even when he is 35 or 36 yeasr of age and he has always said he wanted to fight in Britain. This would be his chance to fight at wembley stadium, make a ton of money and beat Khan, who by then would have something of a name, if he were to unify the light-welterweight division.

This could actually happen
that all?

i think he'll fight ortiz for the HBO payday. then wait for bradley and alexander to fight each other, and take on the winner - eventually, because to fight both is extreme high risk when HBO will likely have him back for lesser fights.

either that, or beat ortiz then go up to welterweight.

i think berto's seeking out the light welterweights.

Has Erik Morales won a fight since coming back, if the answer is yes. Then I'll vote Morales is a runner for the job of falling down next.

Prescott then if Maidana is injured

Forget the fact that prescott hasnt proven anything since then. He has lost a few times since but so what, he hasnt suffered knockouts in his losses and he still ko'd khan in less than 60 seconds

It would be great to wipe the slate clean and the gfight can easily happen for July 31st

..but Prescots last defeat was to a guy who just got blitzed by a guy who just falls short at world level a division lower..

The Prescot re-match should have been made before Mitchel showed us his limitations.. It now proves nothing except he got lucky against a chinny guy.

people say katsidis is too small but the fact of the matter is last year khan was a lightweight. prescott is kak no point in khan fighting him after kev beat him.

And the fact of the matter is .. Khan is a lt-welter worlds champion belt holder .. katsidis is a lightweight. There shouldn`t be any talk of Khan fighting him ... they are simply different weights :witzend:

If Khan wasn`t a world champion belt holder? maybe the fight would be something..

Nah .. just doesn`t fit the profile of a Khan opponent..

Smaller weight guy ... no
Non-puncher ............no
Well in decline ..........no

Expect it to be Marquez .. their 1st choice will prob be Rafael, though they prob settle for the slightly bigger Juan Manuel

Katsidis - buoyant, can punch and though he's a natural lightweight would still be a huge test.

Bradley in 2011......has to be.

Seeing as the first quality (as admitted by the candid Roach elsewhere) of potential Khan's opponents has been lack of a punch, has he now ran out of this type of fellow?

All the names mentioned here seem very capable.

Where would you take him if you were the Field Marshal of Khan's Army? :P
I want him to back up his words and fight maidana bradely and alexander. But he wont

yeh according to the sun they offered casamayor £400,000 for the fight, khan has literally nobody to fight as katsidis apparently doesn't want the fight now. casamayor seems the only name out there
