Watched Meldrick Taylor/Julio Cesar Chavez fight last night.

That was a mesmerising performance from Taylor. If Taylor would have held on then that would go down as a supreme masterclass.

Tapia vs Romero - it was a clear win, if not as one sided as these examples.

Hearns vs Duran

See, I couldn't see that as qualifying -- simply 'cos someone was fecking up Meldrick's face (& ribs) that night. It was a magnificent performance, but not one-sided at all if you ask me.

Azumah Nelson v Jeff Fenech II, after the first meeting everyone thought that Fenech would improve on the draw and beat Nelson. But he was never in the fight.

Toney-Holyfield; Mayweather-Corrales; Manny-Oscar etc etc

Post by Graham Houston »

Toney was just beating up Evander after the first couple of rounds; Mayweather wins every round against Corrales in what looked a highly dangerous fight for Floyd (Mayweather vs Genaro Hernandez another example); Jones boxing rings round Ruiz; Manny beating up Oscar in a fight in which De La Hoya was the betting favourite. ... Vazquez Jr. vs Sonsona .... Devon Alexander easily dominated Witter ... Pacquiao vs Hatton could be included ... In smaller fights, Urango pasted Ngoudjo in what looked like an even fight, Julio Diaz easily outboxed Ngoudjo, who was a slight betting favourite. There are many examples of this: another smaller fight, Antwone Smith outclassing Richard Gutierrez in a welterweight fight that on paper looked even-money. Strange how this can happen and how it happens so often.

The deduction made it seem closer than it was. At best Hamed won four rounds out of twelve, which is not really close.

I guess it depends on what you consider to be one sided. I can certainly understand why some might have considered it to be a one sided fight if they had it 9-3.

Did you honestly think that this fight was going to quite equal over 12 rounds ?
