Having Connie's home made hard tacos for dinner tonite....

I like the hard shell tacos.
When I was growing up in Burbank, Taco Bell was Mexican food to me, so hard shells is the bomb for this Gabacho!

Sure, I go away for 3 days this Memorial day weekend, and I miss out on a ethnic smorgasbord in this room. Interesting stuff but I'm out on that buried Swedish Fish stuff. Burying fish stuff makes for good fertilizer though for the plants.

Reminds me of a good story though. 20 years ago, Old man Peterson lived about 8 houses away from us on the same block. He had a beautiful white Angora Rabbit that he kept in a wooden cage with chicken wire in the summer.

The Bickmann's lived next door and had a German Shepherd, "Pal". Mostly kept behind a fence in a backyard, but would escape from time to time, only to be caught at the neighbors Rabbit cage terrorizing the poor thing.
Mr Peterson went out one day and it happened to be that the dog ,Pal,got out un-noticed until he came out of Petersons backyard with the dead rabbit in his mouth.

The rabbit was filthy but not bleeding. The Bickmanns went nuts. I watched as Mrs Bickmann had this idea that she is going to wash the rabbit and blow dry him clean. She did. She then went and placed the rabbit back in its cage. It appeared the rabbit died from a broken neck in the cage somehow and the dog didnt do it. Old man Peterson came home and for 3 days we heard nothing from him.

He came out on the 4th day when he saw his neighbors, The Bickmanns. He mentioned that his rabbit died about a week ago,and he buried it in the backyard, and the bastid kids in his neighborhood dug up his dead pet, cleaned him and put it back in the cage. He just shook his head and cursed the kids in the neighborhood as being sickos. He said he buried his pet a 2nd time elsewhere.

Do you think Kobe is more popular with the fans than Magic Johnson was ?

??? Good question. LA really loved Magic, but IMO Kobe is as good as anybody who ever played in LA.
I think Magic had a lot more personality, but Kobe is pretty amazing.

We Swedes don't eat rotten rabbit - only rotten herring. Waddaya think we are . . . savages? :( :(

To me it looks like, in other sports like basketball, the players keep on getting better, I used to watch basketball in the 1980s Magic,Bird,Kareem,Moses Malone,DR J, I think the players in recent years Jordan, Kobe have surpassed the skill level of there predecessors, not to take anything away from the players who came before them, because if there were no Dr. J per se, how would the players who came after him no what to strive for, acting last if you know how to take advantage of it is a big plus,sorry I can't say the same for boxing.

I think Jordan ruined the game with his acrobatics. Everybody wants to be "be like Mike," - with slam dunks and three-point shots - at the expense of the team aspect of the game. I'll be pulling for the Celtics out of habit - but I wouldn't walk across the street to watch a pro basketball game anymore.

I have a danish uncle from just across the border from Germany. I have nodded my way through family gatherings without ever understanding a single word from him except from a single Yes Considering the languages are 95% the same in writing , its pretty odd i cant understand a single word.

You make it by filling a flour tortilla with different ingredients - such as beans, rice, cheese, shredded beef, or shredded chicken, and folding it into a rectangle shape. Then, you deep fry it. The best chimichanga I've ever eaten was at a Mexican restaurant in San Antonio, Texas last year. Absolutely delicious.

Agree 100%. In the 1960s, everybody played like the 1980s Celtics. Sad to say it maybe, but women play the best team basketball now. I haven't watched a men's game in years. Too much of a purist, I guess.

I have never seen one, I have heard of them though, but never knew what they are made off or even looked liked, maybe Connie know about them, I'll ask her....

Frank they are more popular in the more Americanized Mexican restaurants, I eat them on a regular basis, they are good and I got the gut to prove it.

I had one of my amateur bouts in Karlshamn some years ago, beautifull place :p I even won two tins of crabb sticks and a snickers bar for the match
