He was bound to be rusty, but the positive is getting 9 and bit rounds under his belt, after so long out.

He has got to keep busy.

"I had a good rest, but now my wife is standing over me with a frying pan, so I really need to fight again and make some money," said Tua, who returns to the ring for the first time in more than two years. "I had a tremendous training camp. I went back to the basics. I did a lot more roadwork while developing more power in both hands." Griffis stated, "Winning this fight is my destiny. It’s the opportunity of a lifetime to beat Tua and get instant recognition and be ranked in the heavyweight division."
Great weight he could come down about 10 more but he was for a fact 320 last November so that shows he has got serious about this

Tua looks absolutely fornicating terrible there! Look how little muscle there is in the arms and shoulders, and his muscle conditioning generally looks terrible. At least before when he was overweight, there was serious muscle underpinning it, now he looks like someone who has been on a weight loss plan.

Tua's finished, he hasn't trained properly for many years, and he's paid the price. At 230 he had speed, power and stamina, but years of blowing up like a fat baloon and eating himself stupid have screwed him.

It's clear he's just looking for some paydays, which is a shame, because if he was in the kind of shape and had the attitude he had as a young fighter, I think he would be capable of winning a title in today's division.

because he weighs between 205-210 normally so will never make it as a heavyweight as he isnt a byrd or a holyfield...

to cut 5lbs and weigh in at cruiser would be easy and atleast make a title fight a possibilty

Considering he has come down from 350 originally before he announced his comeback I say his physique will improve. Most training for this one would have been shedding weight. If he can get down to a lean 230-235 I think he could KO Ruiz again.

Well, some New Zeeland friends that live around his hang out places said a year ago he topped the scales at 370lb. An awful lot for a guy that is only 5-10.
What he looked like? Have you seen Butterbean? Well, he looked like
Butterbean between fights. :o

I just couldnt see a quick KO in this fight Tua needed rounds and having shed all that weight so quickly it would have taken time to get into the groove.
Before all of you go off on one about Tua been finished most of you probably dont know that he did not have a recognised trainer in his camp they plan to get a guy in for when the return to the US. This fight this was primarily of use to get back somewhere near his fighting weight and that most of the training prior to the fight was roadwork.
A smart move for his camp would be to match him in June with Bob Mirovic in June as it would would sell in Australia and an easy night. Then aim for a decent match in the US for Oct/Nov
