Re: Jeffreys last Night
He looked alright, massive for a Super Middleweight. i'm not surprised he's going up to LittleHeavyweight. He looked good offensively but shabby Defencively, he looked to eager to impress.
Re: Jeffreys last Night
jeffries is an athlete & the fact that he can touch down to nearly 12st is a testament to his hard training. he should be an ox at 12-7 put him in with king at l.heavy & it will be a mauling.

Re: Jeffreys last Night
dont think he should be thinking of title fights yet especially at light heaveyweight, he should wait for bellew to move on to the world stage before going for domestic titles

Thought it was an alright performance.
Really glad he is stepping up to Light Heavyweight - I really do believe he could do something on the domestic scene at this weight as at Super Middleweight in my view was too much of an ask with the likes of Degale/Groves being around.
Jaffa is going to be one of those boxers who could well surprise us in the Light Heavweights - I guess he is going to be one of those who Mr Maloney is going to have to match tough to keep the lad motivated.
For me tough matchmaking without the bullsh*t is required - lets see what he can do - he can then prove those critics wrong

Re: Jeffreys last Night
all this of him moving to light heavy , i was always thinking he was already at light heavy , well at least thats where boxrec had him ranked
Re: Jeffreys last Night
rugged. He is overrated imo. Kenny Egan gave him a lesson in the olympics. I don't see him going further than European level, if that.

jeffrys is nothin special imo, defence looked poor, not the quickest, poor head movement, but has alot of power, needs to improve and quick.

Re: Jeffreys last Night
Way too soon to be talking titles. I think he needs another six fights against decent opposition before he attempts to go for the British title. He seems to have the power but thats against average fighters, we need to see how he gets on with decent opposition before we can get a better idear of how far he can go. He was far too big and strong for Hainey so that wasnt much of a test and to my mind he didnt do at all well in his previous fight. Its very early days and he needs to work on a lot of things.

Re: Jeffreys last Night
First of all I think I'm right in saying Jeffreys weighed over the agreed limit for the bout. His opponent I suppose could have walked away.
When the two lads got in the ring, there was a stone difference between them.
In the circumstances not difficult to look powerful, but my main concern was Tony's very leaky defence.
He's certainly got power, but will that be enough when stepping up to the next level ?
I have my reservations but look forward to being proved totally wrong.

Good win for Tony especially after the run Rainey has been on.. Good fighter with power and he'll come good soon enough..
