Agree with that, he's on a run of beating bums and is way past his best, and his best would still not have been enough for George.

Brinkley won't be interested in Groves. He's on the brink (har har) of a World title shot.

Brinkley has had a few solid wins and won an eliminator. Can't ask much more than that. He looks very average, but he's winning. Nice, easy defence for Bute.

I'd be slightly disappointed with that.

Both are better, even at this early stage, than being matched up against American no marks.

Our young fighters have it a bit too easy when they're up and coming, in my opinion.

He should start fighting Degales opponents, to try and do a better job and build up a title clash with the Olympian

Can't say I agree with that.

All of DeGale's opponents so far have been of a very, very poor standard. Typical allegedly, I suppose.

DeGale could well pay for it when he gets in with somebody half decent.

Slinging Groves in with Adamu was a very smart move. allegedly wouldn't have risked DeGale in with him.

My comments, as I've posted above, were aimed more towards other stables. Especially FWarren.

Groves has been placed in some good, tough matchups on paper. Which pleases me.

Fighters like DeGale, even though I dislike him as a person, would benefit from the same kind of tough matchups early on.

He's still on Hayemakers books along with Maguire... he just borrows a slot on Maloney shows AFAIK

He shouldn't be stalking Degale when he is arguably further along than Degale, considering he has already bagged the Commonwealth title.

DG? wrote:I would like to see Groves Vs Paul Smith - winner to fight De Gale!
DeGale has done nothing to deserve a shot of said fight winner if it took place.

That would be good viewing. But, considering DeGale's camp/FWarren already turned down £50,000 from Hayemaker to match Groves with DeGale on the Haye/Ruiz bill back in April, I can't see it happening for quite a while yet.

Deep down, I think DeGale's people know that Groves is quite a bit further down the line than DeGale right now.

DeGale will probably be matched with even more complete no-marks for his next 2/3 fights.
