Regional Belts

Post by allworld80 »

EBU- European Boxing Union (All of Europe)
NABA - North America Boxing Association (US, Canada, Mexico, Caribbean)
ICBA - Inter-Continental Boxing Association (Africa, Asia, Middle East, Pacific Rim)
SABA - South American Boxing Association (South America)

There will be no rankings attached to these belts, and the only stipulations attached to them is they must be contested for by fighters from those regions, and the will have to be dropped if a belt holder fights for a world title.

They will initially be fought for when a matchup deemed fitting is made. For example if two managers agree to a fight, then they can submit a request for a regional belt to be on the line. If multiple fights meet the criteria, then I will choose the best matchup.

Regarding defenses of the belts, the title holder must defend the title within a reasonable time of being challenged, at least within a few weeks. If he is not challenged, then there is no obligation to defend them.

I would hereby like to submit the application that Castillo vs Kilbane should be for the NABA title...

Both fighter are currently ranked in the top 20 in the world rankings...

Commish, does Willie Pep qualify for the EBU due to his Italian bloodline?

Gonna have to say no to that. He is eligible only for the North American title.

But his real name is Gugliermo Papaleo, surely has to count for something! :D

No problemo, I was only chancing my arm anyway.

Whoa, hold on a minute there Commish, Wright isn't even in the top 25...
It's the same as Saldivar, he isn't in the top 25...

Lets wait and see if Kilbane accepts Castillo's offer of a fight.
At least both fighters are in the top 25.

Top 25, top 25, is that all you can say? Saldivar has beaten Olivares, destroyed him actually, and he is ranked 6th, yet Saldivar isn't top 25? That tells you those rankings ain't worth sh!t.

The rankings are irrelevant with regional belts.

How many times are you going to repeat yourself Hitman?

Syop crying about the rankings... It is your fault (as Saldivar's manager) that he is not currently top 25 material.

The only fight I'll be making is the first one for each belt, just to get them in play.

After that, I've already said at least twice what the process is, once in the first post of this thread.

I understand that Commish.
But, with respect, you have not answered the question?

Could you please enlighten the managers as to the criteria that you will be following upon deciding the inital Regional Title fights?

A lot of pointless noise being made by some for meaningless regional "belts". I'd imagine the fighter fighting just have to be part of that region to fight for the belt. After that, it is defended, if not, stripped and somebody else gets a shot at the belt.

All in all, these belts don't mean much.....

The only real criteria is that they be from the same region. I'm just going to look at the eligible matchups and pick which one I think is more deserving, that's all.

Sorry, but I aspire for my guys to get major belts. I'd care less about these made up belts for this season just to keep some people happy. There is no rankings, mandos or rules for them. They truly are pointless. Tzyu was just trying to keep more managers interested, and you went off the deep end for pointless BS belts......

One more question please Commish?

If a Regional Title holder is repeatedly called out by fighters in the top 25, but decides to defend against lesser boxers who are not in the top 25...

Will you intervene? Make titlists take the hard fights?

The commish rankings mean nothing at all. Saldivar battered Olivares around the place, and Olivares is 6th. Easier matched fighters get higher ratings. When the sanctioning body rankings are released you'll get a true picture.
