Very! Oh, I thought you said fat!
I've not seen him so far on the programme so don't know whether he's playing or not.

Calzaghe wasn't bad. He looked sluggish though. More like a centre back than a winger.

Calzaghe was on SoccerAM awhile back. Even admitted he wasn't quick of foot enough to play up front when he played as a kid.

God goal by the Hitman!
Re: Ricky 'atton in SoccerAid- ITV KO 7.30...how fit will he be?
Hatton's penalty was super, side footed top corner job.....gave the,erm....Irish Comedian in goal (Patrick Kielty) no chance....Kielty proved he had the trick mind with some great saves, including a 1 on 1 with Shearer much to my delight
Calzaghe's penalty would have beaten many a world class goalie in it's badness!....he somehow managed to shank it with the inside of the heel part of his left boot after an uncomfortable run up to the spot. It crossed the line at about 15 miles an hour and nestled just inside the post.....the goalie still rooted to the spot probably assuming he had missed, quality
fck it....for anyone that's interested Robbie Williams blazed over in sudden death, it was obvious that he was waiting for England to be within the winning spot kick he would take it. Sudden death went on for about 5 kicks, both Kielty and Theakston taking turns making fantastic saves.......til England BLEW IT....Theakston (clearly not a footballer, punting one wide after a more awkward run up than Calzaghe, for Woody Harrelson , who initially thought you took a penalty from the edge of the box, to hilariously tap in and get mobbed....
well I enjoyed it anyhow.
Hatton looked a bit fat, he'll stay retired, and Calzaghe didn't have any turn of pace at all, which amazed me.....but there again apparently he said he was never quick, even as a kid.

If Hatton ever fights again it will be ghoulish. He looks around 45 already.

Neither are true.Joe was O.K as was Ricky, who only got 15-20 minutes at the end. He(Hatton) took his penaly well, and the commentators said he had been great in training.bennie wrote:I heard that Calzaghe was superb and that Hatton was naff.

Hatton ran like he had a broom down his spine and piles.
Calzaghe ran like a fat middle-aged man but had reasonable confidence on the ball.
I hoped for more from Hatton as I understood he had trials as a nipper and his dad was a pro.
I thought Damion Lewis was good, Ralf Little as always and though he's a toss-pot Wilkes was very good.

If Hatton was, as he says, on Man City's books, it must have been as a ball boy on that showing. he looked to be doing all he could NOT to get the ball.

he's spent his adult life honing his skill at another sport and probably hasn't had so much as a game of 5-aside, what do u expect him to look like.

An athlete for starters. All the other players were busy with their chosen professions too.NorthEastBoxingFan wrote:he's spent his adult life honing his skill at another sport and probably hasn't had so much as a game of 5-aside, what do u expect him to look like.

I'v never watched much of these charity games but remember seeing a similar thing of Real Madrid playing against a load of celebs and ex players and honestly if Michael Schumacer hadn't ended up being an F1 racer I'm very sure he would have ended up playing professional football. He was absolutely outstanding and how someone can be that good at 2 different things amazes me.

Here's some of Schumacher in one of the charity games (halfway through the vid).... check out the goal from Ronaldo first though

We get charity games with fat celebs puffing and wheezing their way around a pitch... in Spain, they have a 90min episode of "showboat" from Soccer AM.
