addition to Pedlar Palmer v George Moore 2nd March 1912

Post by stuarttempleton »

With 10 seconds remainig in rd.4 Moore asked one of his attendants for the smelling salts and in his anxiety splashed Ammonia in his eye.Suffering terrible agony the fight resumed only for one of Moore's seconds to enter the ring. The referee had no option than to disgualify him. Hi Stuart, I notice you've got quite a lot of great info from old boxing's (pre-runner to the boxing news). Out of interest, how many do you have and what dates do they cover?

Alex.

Sorry, I don't mean to be pedantic - but the incident above happened in the interval between rounds 4 and 5, NOT during the 4th round.

Palmer/ Moore incident

Post by stuarttempleton »

My apologies, bit of confusion on my clipping i will alter it shortly.

Yes it was during the interval it reads with 10 seconds of time being called, i took this as the end of the round rather than the begining of the next round

Where did you read about the incident ?

I have the issue of "Boxing" mentioned above. Your summary didn't quite read right so I looked it up. :TU:

I only have the insides of it I bought it with a different cover attatched.

Can you tell me who's on the front cover and if there's anything on the back of any importance ?

Nice picture of Eddie McGoorty adopting a stance on the cover. Inside cover has a bunch of adverts.

Back page has an advert. Inside back page has Scottish and Irish fight news, answers to correspondents and a list of Challenges.
