Right, so about a month has passed since Mitchell's attempt at stepping up in class failed. So, who's next for Mitchell?
A meeting with Murray for his Euro/British titles? Or is Murray aiming higher than that?
A step back down to super feather?
Somebody like Anthony Mezaache or Joan Guzman?
If he can do the weight, I'd personally like to see him move back down to super feather.

Re: Kevin Mitchell's Next Step?
apparently he can't make super-feather. which is a real shame because he would beat roman martinez anyday i feel, mitchell was his mandatory but then got injured and couldn't make weight. hopefully kev disciplines himself and gets back down to super-feather because at lightweight his frame looks too small, and doesn't seem to have the power for lw divisionTerrrrry wrote:Right, so about a month has passed since Mitchell's attempt at stepping up in class failed. Re: Kevin Mitchell's Next Step?
he should step down 2 SF he just seems really small & poorly built for a LW Katsides looked 2 weights bigger than him
Re: Kevin Mitchell's Next Step?
I personally feel the only viable option would be against John Murray and either way he'll be back to where he was after the Presscott fight..
Also if Murray beats him then he'll be closer to where he wants to be too!! Either way it's a great fight and one the british public wanna see I firmly believe..

Re: Kevin Mitchell's Next Step?
Too small as a lightweight, but can`t make Super Feather. Not a good position to be in.
I`d keep him away from Murray. Murray is a big strong lightweight and he would bully Mitchell all night and grind him down.
If you struggle that badly with Johanasson, world domination is not really on the cards.

Yeah, but if you struggle with Breidis Prescott and Willie Limond, then world honours aren't really going to be on the cards. Ie Amir Khan.forcefraser wrote:If you struggle that badly with Johanasson, world domination is not really on the cards.
I can see where you're coming from, but I disagree.
I feel Mitchell would definitely be much better suited, at world level, in the super-feather division.
He really should give dropping back down to SF a go, as he's going to be outmuscled by the majority at lightweight.
Re: Kevin Mitchell's Next Step?
do an alex arthur. have european title fights, wait for all the good fighters to move up in weight or retire, and try to get a vacant title vs an easier opponent than katsidis.
probably wait til murray vacates the european title, then.

Re: Kevin Mitchell's Next Step?
Anybody know where Mitchell is now ranked, or likely to be ranked, by the WBO?
How would his ranking carry down to super-feather?
