Magee obviously got a better offer somewhere else. I guess we will watch this space.

Better offer can also mean a big fight, has Bute got a opponent?

Paul will get there without a doubt.. With or without Magee.. I'll say this if Paul keeps winning we all know that Frank will get him a title shot and probably one were he'll be in with a great chance of winning it.. He'll also rise to the occasion Im sure.. I don't see were Magee can go?? He goes in with Bute he get's hurt..

Does Groves deserve the shot yet do you think?

not yet, just cause he calls him out doesnt mean he deserves the shot he should fight either dilks, dodson or quigley 1st
what has dilks done to deserve a shot?? but get beat by adamu(dilks deserved the win) but groves smashd adamu to bits..smith has already beat quigley and dodson, and both were terrible fights and i certainly don't want to watch them fight again

Bound to be the same Richard though.

You wouldn't see him at shows cos you never buy a ticket and got slung out the last one if I recall.

Why don't I deserve a shot mate in all fairness I've been left high an dry waiting for fights mainly waiting on groves to decide weather I'm a risk or not. It may be promotional problems keeping groves away I may be wrong! But in all fairness I deserve ashot not no more or less than any of the others at the top of the rankings

How reliable is a 'news' story written by an employee of one of the parties involved?

How unbiased is your opinion seeing as you are yet another employee of the company (if that still is the case)?

'Frankly speaking', I'm surprised any of you come on here seeing as you hate the place so much.

Then again, that's what the BoxRec forum is about
- freedom of speech. Long may it continue.
Come on Ian, Employee's of said company probably spend more time scouring forums then anybody p4p lol

Why does Smith HAVE to fight a British fighter next? Surely he could now find Euro/International opponents and let the rest (Groves, Dilks and whoever does well in Prizefighter feed off the scraps at domestic/commonwealth level).

Fair enough. For my money he beats Groves at this stage, although I think Groves in a year or two will be a different proposition altogether.

Where Groves is concerned I don't see the rush. He's only had 9 pro fights and should get some good learning fights under his belt. As we saw with Mitchell, if you don't have the really tough fights early on you may come unstuck later on. I'd love to see Groves go in there with Quigley and Dodson. I think he'd win both but they would be great tests nevertheless.

Plenty of decent fights still out there. Don't think Groves will be the one stepping in but don't think that Anderson is a bad shout.

Big step up for George Groves or Kenny Anderson, but both have shown excellent attitudes in the AM's and Pros so far.

Neither have had the long build up Smith had, but I wouldn't bet against either of them pushing Smith very close. Although inexperienced both are worthy candidates compared to recent challengers.

Well now we have the Magee camp explanation.
Pay your money take your chance but as a simpleton it looks to me like the stumbling block was the options on Magee if he won.

Seems so. Something about them wanting 60/40 as well, but not sure if they were prepared to settle at 50/50.

i thin they'd have taken 50-50 if it was in belfast.

Magee wanted smiths WBO ~4. Ufortunately it looks like he has to go elsewhere.

Like I have said before Paul will get there with or without Magee, I just cannot how Magee is gonna progress from his European title..He's gonna end up losing in a meaningless fight if he doesn't fight Paul.. He will not beat any of the world champions and that's the next step after the European title so on that basis he should fight Paul, But like I said Paul will get a shot at a world title with or without Magee I do know that much... :TU:

Boxing Tw*t From Brentwood Who Crys When He is Sacked comes on here to put up the smokescreens and all along its not Team Magees fault - FACT.

Team Magee ready to fight in July and despite the claims it is alledged Team Smith state they are not ready.

But what I am extremely curious about and surely Team Smigga cant be too happy about is - If Smiths promoter was that confident of a Smigga victory why is it alledged the "Options factor - 5 fights!!!!" was the biggest overriding factor why Team Magee were not willing to sign any contract - which I find perfectly reasonable of Team Magee to reject.
