End of the road for Jason Cook?

Post by KOJOE90 »

The Boxing career of Jason Cook the former IBO lightweight champion from Wales is in limbo as the shoulder injury that has dogged him throughout his career has left his boxing future in limbo.

"I've been referred to a specialist at Morriston Hospital," said Cook. "I'm waiting for an appointment, but I hope to see her soon.

But whatever she says, I think I'll be out for most of the year. I certainly won't be ready before October."

Thats a worry, he is still up there with the very best domestically at Lightweight and I think would give Colin Lynes a blooming good fight if he does move up.

I hope he doesn't go back to old ways.

Cook nortoriously suffers with bad hands too. Taking a rest might be sensible. I fancied Ted Bami to stop him previously.

IF Cook can still discipline himself to make lightweight I think he should try and stick around. It's a hot division domestically and he'll have no shortgage of avenues to pursue.

Is he big enough to make an impact at light-welter and would his chin let him down? Possibly.

That would be a very interesting fight. I'd imagine it was a doable fight as well, which would hopefully give Cookie the proper motivation to get up for it.

Yes, Cook punch resistance isn't his strongest asset, but Lynes I would label a non-puncher.

You didn't see what he did to Bennett then.

Wasn't it body shots that got to Bennett? His televised fights since the Bennett fight haven't shown him to be a particularly devistating puncher.
