Lyle vs Mercer?
Re: Lyle vs Mercer?
This is a good match up that I have discussed with mates in the past.
I like this one.
Let me think upon it some more.

Lyle. Mercer was a fan favorite but he's gotten over-rated by some with time. He had a helluva chin and a ramrod jab but his stamina was subpar and beyond the jab his boxing skills were pretty pedestrian. Lyle on the otherhand gets unfairly written off as a slugger but he had a good skill-set and would beat Ray giving him more angles and using better punch variety, along with superior conditioning.

Essentially, the point I had planned to make --- Lyle was the better boxer, more versatile, just as good a punch, & no lesser heart. He decisions Mercer more often than not. There would be some fantastic exchanges, though.dempseyfire wrote:Lyle. Mercer was a fan favorite but he's gotten over-rated by some with time. I agree. I think Lyle wins clearly but it'd be competitive and the exchanges would be awesome.Goodnight, Irene wrote:Essentially, the point I had planned to make --- Lyle was the better boxer, more versatile, just as good a punch, & no lesser heart.
