WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE WORST REF IN BRITAIN ?
Re: WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE WORST REFEREE IN BRITAIN ?
Alexander Jake Hudson without a shadow of a doubt.
Re: WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE WORST REFEREE IN BRITAIN ?
Terry O'Connor never does a good job. He is definitely among the elite when it comes to poor officiating.
Re: WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE WORST REFEREE IN BRITAIN ?
Richard James Davies or Ian John-Lewis.
And Paul Thomas is the worst judge (Chambers-Dimitrenko, Kotelnik-M'Baye, Calzaghe-Reid, etc.)

Fury v McDermott 1 was a joke.

I agree that Ian John Lewis was terrible last weekend in Turkey for Selcuk Aydin vs Ionut Dan Ion ( Jo Jo Dan )fightTunney wrote:Richard James Davies or Ian John-Lewis. Both seem to be crooked.

Ian John Lewis is the worst, closely followed by Terry O'Connor and then Mark Green
Richie Davies is the best.

Richie is a top referee.......Tunney wrote:Richard James Davies or Ian John-Lewis.

Iv'e really no idea how you think he is crooked, you must be getting him mixed up.
Having an off night occasionally and getting a decision wrong is the pergogative of every referee, but that doesn't mean they are bent or crooked.

With Marcus McDonnald its a confusing he say's Touch gloves, Right any question's"
Going out on Sky Live, he'd be in shock if someone asked a silly or personal question

I think Richie Davies and Ian John-Lewis are the best refs we have funnily enough. Terry O'Connor on the other hand is absolutely terrible, in the Skelton v Williams 1 fight he must have dished out about 15 warnings to Skelton but didn't take a point away. I'v probably forgotten more O'Connor off nights than I'v seen the rest of Britain's referees have combined.

you seem to have over-reacted there. several fights ref'd by above-mentioned names have in the past seemed to be ref'd in ways that seem to favour fighters who are promoted by a certain seamy promoter who you seem to be well acquainted with. your argument came apart at the seams lets face it.

Mark Green.
Also I totally disagree with the Richie Davis comment. He's one of our best.

1. I think the chap might mean Michael Alexander.
2. Macho has saved me a post - there needs to be a distinction made between judging and reffing. As I've pointed out elsewhere, Big Terry did an excellent reffing job for Fury-McD IMO then handed in a shocking card.
3. I've had to go in and edit or delete some post due to inappropriate comments (putting 'seem' in front doesn't help that much
). Sorry about that. Take it easy chaps. Took a bit of time actually - next time I'll just have to nuke the whole thread, I can't be arsed with this malarkey.

Whilst deleting it is sensible I feel the damage is done and I know the individuals mentioned have already seen it. I think Boxrec need to print an apology to these officials immediately.
They are honest decent guys who deserve better.
Over to you Boxrec.

I think it would be more appropriate if the one individual concerned did.boxingchat wrote:Whilst deleting it is sensible I feel the damage is done and I know the individuals mentioned have already seen it. I think Boxrec need to print an apology to these officials immediately.

As you can see, the rest of the board rejected these comments out of hand, which reflects really well on BoxRec.
I do think BoxRec really needs to be more careful about who it lets on here, though. I certainly wouldn't let you or your colleagues anywhere near it.

Box Rec published the comments didn't they?
Do you sue 'The Sun' or the journalist?
You should distance yourselves from such comments.

I do. As for suing...how about not suing anybody? There's a radical idea!boxingchat wrote:Box Rec published the comments didn't they?

Re: WHO DO YOU THINK IS THE WORST REFEREE IN BRITAIN ?
It's very east to criticise a referee without having the necessary training and knowledge that is needed to be a ref.
Thousands/millions even of people give football refs crap each week only to see that they they were actually right on MOTD.
It takes balls to be a ref trust me.
Out of interest, as with all sports fans, how many people on here can honestly say they know the rules and the correct interpretation of the rules of Boxing, and Football for that matter and if you are honest and say no, then next time you criticise remember that that person you are slagging and calling crooked is well read and up to speed with the sport they are officiating in.
Who on here really knows the offside rule or other rules for that matter?
Remember, without refs there would be chaos and carnage in sport- remember that.
Okay, so many, myself included, thought TOC got McDermott/Fury wrong and Poll fucked up at the last world cup but human error is a part of life. No one died did they?
They didn't just find themselves in the position they were in, they worked bloody hard to get there and passed the tests required. TOC and Poll for that matter (Both who I know well) as all officials are are usually the first to admit when they screw up or have a howler. They really don't need to be told because it's what they do, they know.
Can anyone on here honestly say they've never made an honest mistake in their jobs?
As they saying goes, if you could do better do it yourself, have a go then you might realise what it takes and have more respect for the man in the middle.
It's a thankless task.
