Jamie Mcdonell vs Rodrigo Bracco july 2nd
Re: Jamie Mcdonell vs Rodrigo Bracco july 2nd
Doncaster's Jamie McDonnell is rewarded for his stunning progress this year with a hometown defence of his European bantamweight title against Italy's Rodrigo Bracco on July 2.
McDonnell shook up the bantamweight ranks in January when he outscored Hackney's established Ian Napa for the British bantamweight title (since relinquished) and when he ventured to France in March and toppled local star Jerome Arnould in 10 rounds for the coveted EBU belt. McDonnell performed magnificently both times, particularly in the Lions Den against Arnould, a man who had challenged Wladimir Sidorenko for the WBA bantamweight title. The lean, dangerous McDonnell, still only 24, looks set for a bright future.
To Bracco, who brings over the Italian bantamweight belt and a record of 11-2 (5), both his losses on points. The visitor looks slippery, durable and capable in the classic Italian mould, but McDonnell is on a roll, having won his last six fights, five of them early. He is clearly improved from the man who lost back-to-back fights to Bristol's slippery Lee Haskins and Stoke bruiser Chris Edwards a couple of years ago, both on points, his only setbacks in 17 outings.
Clearly, it takes a good man to beat McDonnell, a better man I suspect than Bracco.

Re: Jamie Mcdonell vs Rodrigo Bracco july 2nd
No doubt, he has earned the right to get an voluntary defense, I was just laughing at the fact that Bracco is anywhere near the top 10. Best of luck to Jamie, he should come through this fairly handy judging by Bracco's record.Londonirish wrote:HomeOfBritishBoxing wrote:he's kak is what he isfightacademy wrote:
