McCloskey is very poor. Can't keep up a high pace, uses his head and elbows all the time and so open.

It's a fighters fight, and great to watched- i'd say Mc will probably have this by 3 or 4 rounds by now on at least 2 cards, so 2-3 rounds up with the deduction.

Yep he's really sloppy and getting banged up. Very good effort from Lauri though and looks close to me. McCloskey's found his level I think. Talks of fighting of Amir Khan 'tomorrow'... don't think so.

Lovely punch caught the Italian napping.

You'd have to say that Khan would stand McCloskey on his head, based on that performance.

Was Lauri expecting to touch gloves when he got sparked (his mistake, if he was).

Err, I am. I'm saying he produced a lovely punch and an average performance. McClsokey is the one talking about fighting Khan tomorrow. On that performance I would advise against it.

You need to let this hatred go, it'll give you high blood pressure.

Oh, and unless you're a mod, you need to fornicate off with trying to tell people what they can and can't talk about on here. :TU:

Not a clever performance from McCloskey. As light a hitter as Lauri was he still managed to mess up McCloskey face and have him in some distress.

I think a fight between him and Ajose Olusegun could be one of the messiest of all time but I wouldn't want to pick a winner. That's his level for me. On his last few performances I can't see him ever getting in with the likes of Khan and I don't think it'll be long til Gavin is boxing him to a standstill

Nice finishing shot though, as bizarre as it was

Cracking finish, showed he had power in the right when he had spent most of the time being left hook happy.

How do you think he would do v Gavin, though?

He was definitely winning, just a shame he kept going on and off the boil.

He win at this stage. Gavin needs to fight a few better opponents. Ajose us no 1 in Europe I think that be next fight gir mccloskey IMO

McCloskey/Rees would be a good match-up. I think I'd favour Gavin, but not by much. Anyone know why's he been out of the ring since PF?

McCloskey can make a very tidy living if he can defend that euro belt. Who else is about at that level? Kotelnik probably beyond it, Rees and Olusegun would be very stiff challenges, but I'd take him over Daws, Cook, and O'Donnell. Anyone seen the Russian lad Prodovsomething that beat Augustus recently?

At world level I see all the champs beating him unless he gets a lot harder to hit.

That's a tough fight to call. Olusegun can look unbeatable, but has had such a stop-start career that it's difficult to judge if he's on the way up or might have peaked.

The Lynes rematch looks the best bet to me.

McCloskey smashes Lauri to the canvas
