cock the haymaker and move in and out of range thowrwing when his head is a target.

that keeps you out of trouble and you score big they dont.

Is that the only way you can win on normal mode, sounds very repetitive.

Lean just out of range and counter with crosses and jabs for the first few rounds. Hurts them, saves your stamina for the big attacks and cuts them to ribbons. :TU:

Anyone managed to get 100% attributes yet? I've got every award except the iron man award - 100% stats :(

All of them I think. Does that mean 100% of the maximum? Some fighters i.e. tall heavies have a maximum speed of 75 etc. I assume you have to just max out all stats for your boxer.

Just noticed, fighters with fair skin have a max cuts of 75 what a generalisation that is!

I'd say that is fairly accurate. I can't think of many white European fighters with fair skin that don't either cut or mark up.

J is going to call me a bore for this, but the thing with the stats pisses me off, it's just not realistic. It would be more challenging if the fighter you started with didn't change that much.

What I mean is, if you started with a fast fighter with high agility, there would be limits on how much punch power you can have. Conversely, if you pick a slow slugger with huge power, then you will not be able to have that much speed or agility.

I think they could also differentiate between handspeed and movement. Some fighters have very fast hands, but they aren't great movers, like Toney for example.

The niggles are fairly minor, and in fairness I haven't played it yet.

Correct me if im wrong but Speed is hand speed and agility is movement. So both skills are seperate.

James you've been pontificating about the flaws in this game for a month now and every time J responds saying, FFS play the fkking game. With respect, I refer the honourable gentleman to the answer suggested by my right honourable friend the member for London.

To answer you latest blind-fold critique - you are limited to how much power or hand speed you can develop dependent on stance and weight, I underastand (I haven't been able to afford enough time to get that far in career).

Well, just as soon as my new X-box arrives, I'll be happy to make some more informed critiques. I guess I was kind of assuming that most of the problems with the 1st hadn't been sorted.

If you crate a boxer using the speed stance, you can max out the speed, but not the power, and vice versa for a fighter with the power stance.

I have just bought an Xbox on Ebay for £80 (this includes p & p). All I need now is Fight Night Round 2. I hope this game is as good as you guys are saying!

Yeh its definetly the best boxing game out there. Ive only been on career mainly, and there are some great record sheets, like most earned, most wins.

I've never played on the first fight night, so i wouldn't know how it differs, but its a great game.

Oh, and I meant 100% stats in every skill, as there is an award in career mode, I think its called the Iron Man award, and it says you need to get 100% stats to unlock it, which i think unlocks extra licensed trunks.

Good game though, I've just created Bruce Lee, looks good

ive just swirched to hard mode this is when proper styles come to the fore, speed guys are much harder to hit, guys with low stamina come at you for 3 rounds then gass, counterpunches wait for you.

the AI prior to this is far less detailed.

game comes alive on difficult level. :TU:

I switched to hard level after about a day, much better - at the end of a fight I'm sweating buckets! Can't believe people are playing it on easy I tried a bout on easy to see what its like the other guy hardly hits you back!!

haha it does get ya hey.
think if you havent played alot of the fn 2004 it would be more challenging but as the actions become second nature its much easier when you pick this one up if you owned a version of the previous one.

Easier to fight without using the right anolgue stick on the ps2 though so I turn it to configuration 3 and you still get to use the haymakers anyway. :TU:
