OK, this may get locked and I understand if it does, but just for once if this thread can remain sensible and un-trolled by idiots it could throw some really good input the way of Britains leading promoter who obviously reads what goes on here.
So presuming that he will read this and this forum- which can't be seen by non members, is providing a platform for you to make some open (ish) comments.
What would you consider needs to be done to help our sport flourish?
My opinion-
-Firstly, i'd love to be able to chat with members of his company on here and other forums. Although we're only a tiny percentage of the boxing fans around the country/world, we're the ones who care enough to create an account wishing to front an opinion on the sport. We're a little up the hierarchy then the casual armchair fan so i'd love to be able to make suggestions to promoters. I'd love more interaction with promotional companies. It makes so much sense for both parties.
-Love the youtube channel, great work putting fights on there for casual fans. Perhaps career set playlists would be a good way forward and some of the older boxing from the 90's in particular.
-I'd like FWP to take a greater interest in domestic boxing. I understand that FWP have found themselves without a star attraction for the first time, for a long time but I remember back in the late 90's when you'd put on those tuesday night domestic shows at bethnal green. Just amazing with top notch matches on 70% of the bill and then one or two prospect journeyman types.
-I'd like them to try and push fighters the traditional route again, but I understand it might not be the most lucrative way of doing things but perhaps i'm a little bit traditional in my views of the way a fighter progresses.
-i'd like them not to emphasise the 0 as much and match prospects earlier. I love how Chsiora and Sexton have already fought and rebounded so strongly. Thats testimony to the character of both that they were prepared to take that match so early and rebound well. More of that please.
Finally i'd like to say thanks for giving us some of the most magic nights of boxing. Without the hard work on your part some of my greatest memories wouldn't exist. I'm a boxing fan through and through and overal you've done a fantastic job.
I've got more gripes and suggestions but I won't waste my time in case the thread gets locked. Please no stupid comments- not that i'd expet that on here.
