As the all-time ratings are based on the annual ratings we have to wait until end of 2010.

But it looks like Mayweather will collect another 100 to 130 points for this.

Only this website would have a boxer in Shane Mosely who just got dominated in a fight, and had not fought since January 2009, vault BACK IN to their top 10 pound for pound list. Wasn't on the list, got dominated, is now in the top 10. Don't care if it's done by computer. Stupid.

Before Mosley got inactive he had 1218 points and was #4 p4p behind Pacquiao, Hopkins and Mayweather.

Just curious, what is Sergei Dzinziruk's point total now after a year and a half of inactivity? He makes his comeback on Friday against Daniel Dawson, who's also been inactive for over a year.

Dzinziruk down to 240 points.

Dawson down to 97 points.

Hey, while I don't have the time to read all 40 pages of this, I did skim through a while and didn't find anyone asking this question. Sorry if it has already been answered.

How is it decided what division an all-time fighter is ranked in? Sugar Ray Robinson is possibly most well known as a welterweight, for example. He is listed at middleweight though. Just wondering what goes into this process.

Hopkins rating...

I think he got hit with a quality performance penalty recently.. though shouldn't he be closer to 1250 as opposed to where he is now?

Last I knew, you were multiplying the best opp in the past 18 months by 4.

The conditions are a bit more complex:

1. In a bout a higher rated winner can only win points against an opponent rated higher than 25% of the winners points - this is the factor 4, you mention.

2. A boxer loses points after a period of 18 months, after
- neither fighting an opponent within a rating range of 50% to 200% of his own rating
- nor winning or achieve a close result against an opponent with a higher rating than himself

Chris Norrad

Post by Ric »

It looks a bit odd to me, when reviewing the Canadian cruiserweight rankings, that a guy like Chris Norrad (5-0-0) is rated below two guys with with 1-0 records (Ryan Ford and Taylor Bull)--even after clicking those two boxers' opponents' records. Something doesn't quite seem right about that.

I will have a look ...

so:

Norrat 5 - 0 stepped up from 2 to 9 points by SD over Francis (before 5 points and 3 wins)

Bull 1-0 stepped up from 0 tp 11 points by TKO over Mein (before 5 points and 1 win)

Ford stepped up from 0 to 11 points by MD over Lewis (before 7 points and 17 wins)

Regarding Norrat and Bull, the SD over an opponent with 5 points and 3 wins counts less than a TKO over 5 points and 1 win.

Regarding Bull and Ford, the MD over an opponent with 5 points and 1 win counts the same as a MD over 7 points and 17 wins.

now we have access to the ratings per fight - is there any simple way they can be converted into a graph showing the boxers rating as it changes? Other than typing it in oneself. Would be nice to be able to compare the career arc as it were of two or more fighters.

In the boxer's bout list just select the button right of the graphics icon in the bouts parameter block - and you will see the ratings development as graphics ...

I don't quite understand how a 15-4-8 Rush Dalma is the #10 All-Time Bantamweight.

I found an all time rating trace from March containing the annual marks:

remarks: all time rating = (sum of 67 / annual ranks) + (sum of 67 / (rank annual best defeated opponents - 1)) + 1/7 of career top rating

1940: #5 = 13 points (sum 13 points), best win over #5 = 16 points (sum 16 points), top career rating 382 = 53 points => 83 points
1941: #3 = 23 points (sum 35 points), best win over #1 or #2 = 66 points (sum 82 points), top career rating 482 = 68 points => 185 points
1942: #2 = 33 points (sum 68 points), best win over #1 or #2 = 66 points (sum 148 points), top carerr rating 547 = 77 points => 293 points
1943: #2 = 33 points (sum 101 points), best win over #1 or #2 = 66 points (sum 214 points), top career rating 763 = 107 points => 422 points
1944: #1 = 66 points (sum 167 points), best win over #3 = 33 points (sum 248 points), top career rating 834 = 119 points => 534 points
1945: #1 = 66 points (sum 233 points), best win over >#10 = 0 points (sum 248 points), top career rating 834 = 119 points => 600 points

..quick question... do you guys store only the CURRENT ratings or is there ANY way to get access to the previous files, let's say to find out how this or that boxer was rated a year ago or so? Thank you...

You can find the pre-bout and after-bout ratings for every boxer in the boxer's bout list.

You will have to check the option ratings on in the bouts section of the bout list, first.
