In the timeless HW season, Bowe did remarkable things, WBU for over half the season, longest winning and KO streak AND UNIFIED CHAMPION. But the man the GENUINE man of that Season and like 30th draft pick was Harry Wills. He held the championship longer than Mike, Granted Mike closed the Show, but the ABSOLUTE shocker was Harry Wills record at the end. Do you remember when he topped like 6 top names in a row? Upset after upset after upset. Foreman, Frazier,Holyfield to name a few., Even if MatthewS would have been managing him I would seriously consider this man for props for that season.

However since he was managed by the bombastic and arrogant BoxBuzz, it will never be.

This is how the politics of personal destruction works.

Anyone else think Rosenbloom, Bowe or Wills should go to the vote?

I wouldn't mind seeing a Maxie pad vote but the others... :-?

Not really suggesting anything here. And SAV...I'm reffering to another season, a season where Wills did much better than the most recent HW season. Frazier had a better record than Wills in the season you are speaking of.

I think the best season I've ever had was that HW season. Both Wills and Bowe Unified champions. No one else managed that feat until SAV.

But it's all gone like a fart in a whirlwind, by the hand of the omnipotent one.....the bringer of humility, he who erases such mighty castles in the sand and topples all criticall checkerboards......

yep....I'm talkin' bout .....Shep.

I assume that Raf Marquez is heading right into the HOF

You might as well put him in there now.

It's your sim peers that vote you in. If you think that you will get a yes vote with a fighter who has never unified, refused to fight the best fighters and takes delight in the fact he is fighting a "bum a week" then you must be crazy fool.

Agreed. :TU:
The bottom line is that Marquez and Nelson should not have dropped their titles, they should have Unified.

How exactly do "the people" know who the outright No 1 is?

At least for most f the duration of previous Light Heavyweight Season, people knew who the man to beat was.

In a hypothetical situation:
When you had 4 different champions, (WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF)
and they refuse to have Unification fights...

It gets pretty difficult to judge who the topdog is.

So far in this Sim Season, based on achievement I would put Sanchez as the closest guy to the Hall Of Fame.

Marquez spent a lot of time not fighting top opposition...

Saddler is close. :TU:
But the only reason I have said Sanchez is because there was a rivallry between him and Marquez for about 5/6 weeks as to who was the no 1 fighter.

However, Sanchez is the only man to unify titles this season as of yet.

Saddler and Arguello have a unifcation fight (WBA,WBC,IBF) for these world titles...
Whoever wins will become the 1st "Triple Champion" of the season, and should be ranked as the no 1 fighter, regardless of other results.

As for the race of the "Grand Slam" - (the 1st man to have won all 5 world titles)

Kid Chocolate has done excpetionally well so far...
Chocolate has been WBC, WBA and WBU champion already.

But just ahead of him we have Alexis Arguello...
Arguello has been WBC, WBA AND WBO champion.

And Armstrong and Pep haven't started their title charge. yet.

That's ridiculous. Nobody gives an eff about the WBU by comparison to the big ones. Arguello will probably never be eligible to fight for it, as he's in the top 15.

It's only a gimmick, it doesn't mean anything... But it is worthy of note.
Michael Spinks was the first man to do it last season.

I nominate Marquez to be entered into the HOF. He has to have an asterix next to his name though because of the half season.
