Dug out a (very) old issue of Boxing (News) today and discovered a bout that is missing in the database:
November 4th 1910, The National Sporting Club Covent Garden in London.
Johnny Condon W20 Alec Lambert
Condon weighed 124 lbs., Lambert was 125 lbs.
Record for Condon - http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
Record for Lambert - http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
There were other fights on this card as well, but I am uncertain if they were pro bouts or amateur bouts.
I cannot find any of the names involved in those fights in the database, except "Kid Lightning" which there are a few of, but none that match.
Johnny Condon vs. Alec Lambert 1910
Re: Johnny Condon vs. Alec Lambert 1910
I'd put it in, but tell me first, please, was it the same card where Burns and Goldswain fought each other? Because, that was the same evening in London, but our DB doesn't show WHERE in London, so I have to know if to add it or create a new card. Thanks!
Re: Johnny Condon vs. Alec Lambert 1910
Mystery solved.
The Condon-Lambert fight was not on the same show as Jack Goldswain vs. Sid Burns, because the latter took place on Monday 11 November, not Monday 4th.
The 12 November 1910 issue of Boxing (News) refers to Goldswain-Burns as "Last night he (Goldswain) came back to his best form and handed out a walloping to Sid Burns..."
What else is interesing is that Goldswain is described as "the hero of two hundred battles."
Obviously there are many fights missing from his record, which only lists 126.

Link to Burns' record - http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
Burns weighed in at 146,5 lbs., Goldswains at 144 lbs.
As for the location of this fight, Boxing mentions that "The Ring was packed to the rafters."
I expect this is in reference to The Ring, Blackfriars.
