J, I'm another one who hoped that Audley would go on to big things, and it looks like I backed the wrong horse entirely. There's a slim chance he may go shit or bust and try and make a late move this year, but I suspect that he's already got it too cushy to be really hungry for it.

Looks like the stage is set for AUdley to contest a vacated British crown...?

Obviously not going to happen but its hard to believe Skelton is on the brink of surpassing him on the world scence having turned professional two years after Audley.

I'm frequently trying to establish whats happening with him, but with three weeks until the Peter card it looks increasingly unlikely he'll be featuring.

Skelton is surpassing nobody on the world scene, as soon as he faces someone half decent with some skills and a chin he'll lose.

He's surpassed Harrison a little but not on the 'world scene'. In terms of the world scene Skelton is nowhere. Only by virtue of having won the british title is he ahead of Harrison, both have won shitty world belts but they mean fornicate all.

I dont think its humiliating at all, he's been inactive and they want to make some sanctioning fees so they're stripping him. He doesn't need the title anyway as he's going to be fighting in the US and they give absolutely no credence to these belts its only over here they get mentioned on the TV.

Sure the title was a nothing, but it meant something to him.
From topping the bill and basically pulling the strings to fighting on a relatively unknowns undercard says it all basically, not so much a step backwards more of a giant leap.

Yes it is humiliating Nick. One of the most low down sanctioning bodies, one with absolutely zero quality control, have stripped Aud of their recognition. The final insult!!

Maybe Audley can take on Mitch Blood Green for the WBS title? I can just see it now on the A-Farce website: "Those who mock Audleys challengers take heed- his new opponent is a 6'5'' monster who went 10 rds with Mike Tyson"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know the Audrey bashing is pretty much legit due to himself building up his own arse so much that he was never going to mach anyone's expectation but:

A) If his current record was as it is, but Audley was 5 years younger, he would get far less stick. His record compared to some is/was improving adequately for any other boxer turning pro.
B) He can't help getting injured. Although whether he's working hard enough to get back and/or has the drive is another question.
C) He obviously has some ability. He's high up in Britain. He beat Krence in his 4th, 5th fight? Although I remember Krence basically saying after the fight that Audrey punched like a budgie with tennis elbow, Krence is now fighting for a British eliminator. Also, back to the record his first fight, against Mike 'Tub of lard' Middleton - Owen Beck fought him in his 18th fight.

Anyway, I've alarmed myself with such a blatently pro-audrey post. I'd better go to the doctor's now.

As for Audley. His time came five years ago and went 15 minutes later. All the skill iin the world ( which he did not have although he admittedly was potentially a world class fighter ) does not make up for the lack of inclination to fight anyone decent or being injured for long spells. One is his fault. The other is not. Both have the same result. Yesterday's man who will at least have a few quid in the bank and a gold medal in the cabinet to show his grandkids
