Henry Castle in trouble...

Post by Dirk Kelly »

Looks like we won't be seeing Henry Castle for a while. Gave me one of the best fights I've ever seen against Gareth Couch but his fans were a bit moronic and heard lots of stories about him not being a nice a lad.

FWIW I met him the other month in the ABA gym at Sailsbury. He seemed a nice lad, just keeping himself to himself - I asked him about him beating Graham Earl and he showed a lot of respect for Earl..

Someone told me he had calmed down a lot, stopped hanging around with a bad crowd. Now this.

Obviously didnt keep himself to himself enough. Probably alcohol related.

Think he is a good fighter and hasn't had the breaks he deserved especially early on in his career.

He might of calmed down more if he got picked up by a bigger promoter/manager and had more regular fights.

Not suggesting Castle is guilty but if he is I cant see where your coming from when you say "He might of calmed down more if he got picked up by a bigger promoter/manager and had more regular fights" :o

Thats no excuse, you either have it in you to sexually assualt someone or not. Oh wait a minute, he could use that excuse and the judge might feel sorry for him and let him off lightly

If he has done it thats a poor excuse, most people suffer more hardships than not having a big promoter/manager and not having regular fights. Anyway, thought he had a 'big' Manager in Maloney?....Well ok a 'small' one then :P

You'll find that that whole 'bubba' bitch thing is a myth. Sexual assault rarely happens in UK prisons, and mainly in lifer's nicks. Plus he's a pro boxer for Christ's sakes, so hardly an easy touch.

I remember him taking a clinical beating off the very decent and personable Ian Wilson....Does anyone know what's happened to him, he looked really classy that night.

Agreed!! I really used to enjoy watching him. I dont think he sat down between most rounds as he didnt think his back would let him get up again...... fair play to him if he is coming back, ill look forward to seeing how he gets on.

Thats true to an extent, the male rape thing doesn't really happen in the genral population wings in UK prisons, however a good friend of mine did a stretch in Strange ways and he said that the sex cases are all kept together and it's not unknown for them to sexually attack each other.

Not supporting the prick; but he didn't get done for any sexual crime, so I reckon he will be in a normal wing. However that he was accused and that it was a 17 year old girl that he assaulted means he may well get attacked

The shocking thing about the title of that story is "MAY never get go in ring again". Scum like this should never be allowed a boxing licence back, pro-boxing is is a privilege and not a right. I hope he gets the sh*t kicked out of him in jail and when he does get out, I hope this girls family find him and treat him the same way he treated her.

He must have really hammered he.With a not guilty plea he would have got nearer 10.As for Boxing again,of course he shouldnt, but i bet the victims of Terry Dunstan and Richard Towers say exactly the same, and they got a lot longer.Even Big Larry did a long stretch,i suppose once they proove they are rehabilitated its hard to turn them down legally.

Even if he does fight again, i doubt any promoter would toch him, yeah plenty of fighters have been inside, but his crime is pretty unforgivable, i can't see Joe Public wanting to see him on a show.
