Anthony Small, who now calls himself Abdul Haqq, joined protesters who chanted "Murderers!" and "Baby killers!".

As a result allegedly has dropt the fighter (not with a punch) and took a hard stance. Small always had potential even if he jabbed like a kid who was doing doggy paddle......what a pratt.

I think what Horse means is that soldiers were adults who signed up out of their own free will and so chose that profession knowing that it could and probably would involve situations like the ones they're in now.
I've got friends in the forces, including a Marine who's been in Afghanistan, but I do believe in individuals being responsible for their own actions and it doesn't wash to say it's not their fault. You can argue about the rights and wrongs of the conflict, but you can't argue about the fact they chose to sign up.

I don't agree with 95% of SBW says but he is absolutely right on this one. I don't agree with Small whatsoever but he has the right to say whatever he thinks. We all applaud Muhammad Ali for the stance he took in regards with Vietnam and his religion in the 1960s and see him as a fearless champion of free speech and history now sees the boxing authorities as the right wing, reactionary shitehawks they were. Is history repeating itself (even on this lesser scale..)

The 'I was only following orders line' worked well for the nazis in the post war period as very few of them were prosecuted for war crimes

Frequently, that wasn't what got them off the hook, it was the pragmatic attitude of the allies who recognised it wasn't practical to prosecute them all. For example, Nazi scientists were treated really well so the US army could utilise their talents.
