Re: Leapai steps up

Re: Leapai steps up
I wish British promoters would bring over the likes of Walker or Beck to fight our top domestic class heavies! So nice one Aussies! I think Leapai will KO them both and make a bold statement.
Re: Leapai steps up
alex is fit & ready for this one, hope he gets thru & climbs the world rankins,he is doin it the right way
Re: Leapai steps up
as far as shutting some of the people on here, i think that is very unfair. after all it was leapai who was boasting about how good he was but then himself choosing to fight guys with records of 3 wins and 15 losses. so he only had himself to blame.
so he is only fighting who he should be expected to fight.
good luck. we could do with a quality heavyweight from this region.

Whats shutting? I have never heard Alex boast about how good he, is he is a very quiet guy who does his talking in the ring.
Re: Leapai steps up
Theres a couple of big fights there for Alex....it will certainly open a few doors, is that the Walker that knocked Areola down?

u must have dirt in your ears.
the point is we have heard bumdine talk rubbish for years about conquering the universe and it wears very thin after a while. its ok to talk, just try and be sure to have the runs on the board to back it up.
alex is stepping up now and we r all cheering for him that's what matters.

alex dosnt say much, dosnt have to, who in aus is left for him to fight,or wants to fight him,he cant even get sparring, he is stepping up & that is better than most in australia ,get behind him & lets hope he gets a better deal than kali
Re: Leapai steps up
Yes, in the second round. Then got knocked down twice in the same round and stopped in the third.Hounddawg wrote:Theres a couple of big fights there for Alex....it will certainly open a few doors, is that the Walker that knocked Areola down?
Re: Leapai steps up
Alex will destroy him, all the Yank heavyweights at the moment can't fight. If he gets over I'm from the USA I'm the best syndrome .Alex will win comfortably he has a better chin and better defence than Walker .
Walker got KOed by 102 KG heavyweight Alex can take bombs from 110 KG plus heavyweights.

Re: Leapai steps up
weight doesnt have alot to do with it
Re: Leapai steps up
So your saying Jack Dempsey would beat Lennox Lewis I doubt it .
Lennox Lewis was just a big guy who would laugh at punches from small heavyweights like that.

Re: Leapai steps up
And don't bring up Jess Willard he was just a bigger girl than Lennox Lewis.

Jack, Rocky and the Brown bomber are fantastic fighters easily top 20 alltime of any division imo, but today they would have had to add some size to there 86kg frames, giving 20-40 Kgs away with a 6'4 + fighter with boxing ability would be a big ask, however with there ability anything is still possible.
One things for sure Jack,Rocky and Joe would smash any of the Cruisers since and that includes Evander.
Re: Leapai steps up
Didn't a mediocre heavy named McCall KO Lennox once?davidk59 wrote:So your saying Jack Dempsey would beat Lennox Lewis I doubt it .

Re: Leapai steps up
McCall wasn't mediocre because some heavyweights don't get a shot at Tyson to make a name for themselves and McCall was a bit heavier than 102 kg he would have defiantly knocked Jack Dempsey out early and he give Lennox Lewis a hundred chances to knock him out in the rematch but Lewis couldn't do it even when McCalls mind wasn't there if McCall wasn't on drugs you would see how good he was.
Re: Leapai steps up
McCall was defiantly a better fighter than Lennox Lewis .
Lewis was jab hit and hold . Vitali klitscho was twice as sharp as Lewis but the cut eye cost him, McCall had inside fighting Lewis was an amateur on the inside pulling your head down on to his uppercut it's just that size does matter in the heavyweight division that's why everyone thinks that Lewis is the man.

Try telling Dempseyfire this.....So your saying Jack Dempsey would beat Lennox Lewis I doubt it .

I would also pick Lewis to beat Dempsey most of the time, but to say that he would laugh at Dempsey's punches is ridiculous. If Dempsey landed flush, Lewis would go down and stay down. While Holyfield did not have to power to put Lewis away, he certainly shook him up in their second fight. Dempsey, Marciano and co. were natural cruiserweights (as we call them today) like Holyfield, although even more powerful. I honestly don't think that size and weight much more of an advantage once you go over 90kg or so.
Think about it, the guys generally touted as the hardest ever heavyweight punchers are (based on their prime weight):
100kg George Foreman
99kg Mike Tyson
94kg Earnie Shavers
Re: Leapai steps up
I really hope these fights come thru for Alex as they are fights that will get him attention around the world.
If he's fit which i hope he is this will be worth a quick pint down the pub......Until he's actually the headline fight i will not pay for mundine garbage again.

i agree.

Being beaten in a title fight by Frank Bruno does not make you an immortal.davidk59 wrote:McCall wasn't mediocre because some heavyweights don't get a shot at Tyson to make a name for themselves and McCall was a bit heavier than 102 kg he would have defiantly knocked Jack Dempsey out early and he give Lennox Lewis a hundred chances to knock him out in the rematch but Lewis couldn't do it even when McCalls mind wasn't there if McCall wasn't on drugs you would see how good he was.

McCall is not an immortal ,but he's a bit better than mediocre with his chin and with his point losses how many was he robbed ! Including the Bruno fight was it in England .
