Re: Tunney vs Charles @ HW
Against someone his own size or smaller, I'd have a hard time picking anyone to beat Tunney.
Tunney for me here as well, but as mentioned above, a draw wouldn't be out of the question with these two.

Re: Tunney vs Charles @ HW
I pick Tunney as the best 175lber. ever head-to-head, & that includes Charles, but a fight between these two --- at either of the two weights they shared --- would be ludicrously tight, & damn near impossible to predict accurately.tzyuforever wrote:Against someone his own size or smaller, I'd have a hard time picking anyone to beat Tunney.

I'll have to go with the better boxer/fighter/pugilist in this one.

Both about equal on skill level/speed, but I'll go with the bigger hitter and that's Charles.
Re: Tunney vs Charles @ HW
Charles on a close points dec.
Re: Tunney vs Charles @ HW
Tunney for sure in my opinion. He had a record of something like 66-1. His only loss was to Harry Greb, whom he beat at least twice afterwords. He had skills most didn't have back then, and was a very smart fighter. Not to take away from Charles, he was great in his own right, just stayed in the game too long, losing a bunch at the end of his career. Tunney by decision.
