Think Frank has a fight to fight deal rather than a contract like matchroom and frank maloney .
the thing is jake ,there usually announcing venues a month before ,having press confrence's etc .and nowt has been announced.

Why isn't Hatton really competing for the purse bids involving his fighters? Is Macklin still with Hatton?

I don't know why, but I have a feeling some partnership might happen between Hatton and Warren (note - strictly a guess by myself there).

I really cant see it.Feelings run very deep on both sides.Besides, who has Ricky got that FW would want, with the possible exception of Scott Quigg?
Its more likely Hatton is bidding a lot more sensibly now after losing a fortune over the last year or so,and thats why he is losing a few more bids.

Every now and again Mr W arren will put in a purse bid that is generous to say the least.

He does this for a reason in my humble opinion:

To score a few points over the boxers promoter by outbidding him.

To open up the eyes of TV Executives that he should be viewed as the main man when it comes to boxing promoting and thus deserving of a tv deal.

I dont like Mr W arren very much but he as I keep on saying is the top promoter in this country by a very wide margin and securing the rights to this Macklin fight has scored a few points.

With regards to your comment concerning Hatton Promotions - they probably put a bid in thinking no one else was bidding for the fight - they simply would not have expected a bid from Mr W arren.

Your probably correct, Mickey. Just finding it a bit strange that Hatton anticipated making a big loss for a while doesn't seem to be even attempting to make bids.

Learned to say never say never in this game. Who would have thought you would have seen the Two franks ever join forces, boxing back on ITV (after the Benn vs McClellan fight).

It could be a marriage of convience with Hatton got TV dates.

He has a good stable of fighters aside from Quigg? Doesn't he still have Macklin? He has Matthew Hatton (a name and EBU champion at least), Craig Watson, Martin Murray etc

Spud - with regarding Hatton promotions puts.... they were I believe 3rd in the running for the Rhodes fights and didn't even have a published figure for the Barker fight (surely he knew Hennessy would bid).

Your spot on about Warren and why he does this - I remember the Woods fight also! Just cannot help but think why is Hatton not making a realistic bid for these fights.

Stu - I remember the 3rd Johnson/Woods fight very well - I remember the week before the bids were due in - it was clear to us that W arren would put in a bid because at the time if you and others remember there were tentative negoitiations taken place with regards a Calzaghe/Woods/Johnson fight.

If Johnson had won the fight - I have no doubts at all - a fight would have been made with Calzaghe.

Im not sure where this Hatton/loss rumour stems from?

His post-boxing business affairs are reportedly doing well and are enjoying significant success.

Warren said at the press conference this morning in Glasgow that he has not had a deal with Sky for over a year but instead has done ad hoc deals for each individual show, he also confirmed that the Martinez/Burns and Simpson/Smith fights would be live on Sat 4th September on Sky.

Going to be a great night the WBO and Commonwealth titles at stake.

His fight has been pulled from the schedule and also removed from his career record, any news when he will be fighting next?

Punch Promotions Ltd, which includes boxing promotion, the operation of a fitness centre in Hatton's home town of Hyde, wholesaling of clothing and equipment and internet and television broadcasting revenues, posted sales of £11.6m in the year to the end of November 2009.

Most of that was from the sales of Pacquiao tickets etc
It's near a £4 million loss on other things. His gym cost over a million, I would predict he lost another million at least on the promoting side. In fact it also says each unit incurred start up costs which are not detailed in the accounts.
So there is a big loss there...

What's so unusual about this ?
Most new ventures make an operating loss to start with.
Even Mr Warren went on record saying that to start a Promotion Company you have to be prepared to make significant losses for the first three years minimum.
Fact is, Ricky has the capital to play with.
That said not even multi millionaires pour their cash down the sink without thought.
He's got the best chance of any new entrant in the Promotion market.
Time will tell.
I don't see Ricky fretting - he's moving into his multi million pound new pad shortly.
