i dont agree with you putting Liston up there - would you even call that a jab? I know he hit as hard as most men dream about being able too - but it was more of just a deadpan straight .

Richie- I understand your point about Liston but a straight left and a jab are basically the same punch. It was effective.
Steve0- The reason I didn`t put Lewis`s jab up there is because he paws it way too much and it`s not the constistant weapon that it could be.
Harry C.- Tunney did have a great jab and now that I think about it I would replace Foreman with Tunney in the top 5.
Sometimes I forget about what a remarkable fighter Tunney was.

1. Holmes
2. Louis
3. Ali
4. Liston
5. Foreman
6. Johnson

Lorenzo Zanon had an excellent jab as well. Too bad his chin was so awful. Lewis' jab is more of the "probing" variety and is often times designed to be annoying rather than to do damage or set anything else up. Pinklon Thomas also had a very good jab (his fight with terrible Tim was one of the single best jab-fests I have ever seen).

A young prime Tyson had an excellent jab. He always doubled it up. :box:

Ali, Holmes, Louis, Liston and Lewis. Although I agree that Lewis never used his jab as well as he should have because it was a great weapon. When he did he looked a better boxer. I liked it in the Tyson fight though! It was pretty good against Tua as well!
