Yes, the 140lb kingpin for the better part of a decade, and universally respected and ducked by his peers in nearby divisions.

No. But I expect him to get in any way. Tszyu beat one outstanding fighter in his career, and Chavez was washed up when it happened.

Using McGuigan, Willard, Johansson as a measuring stick, alot of guys deserve to be in.

I'm sick of hearing McGuigan be brought up during these discussions, truth be told.

His inclusion was a fvck-up, it's time people got over it. Let's start judging guys on their merits again.

Agreed. Just b/c there was one mistake doesn't mean there should be one thousand.

Some guys have gotten in who didn't deserve it. Let's use what should be the real criteria.

On that note, I say no.

Its a "Hall of Fame," not a "Hall of All-Time Greats." Johansson deserved his induction if for no other reason than he was a history maker: The first (and only) Swede to become the undisputed world heavyweight champion.

What are people talking about here? Of course he deserves to be in the hall of fame. The man was a role model in more ways than one. He fought a former titlist in Juan LaPorte in his 4th fight and fought on a championship level after that. He had a total of 12 successfull title defenses, was a unified champion,he fought one person with a losing record and his opponents records were a combined 1045 Wins,130 Losses, and 25 Draws. He absolutley destroyed southpaws,I think he was like 6-0 with 5 knockouts against them. One thing that sucks is that he never really fought another legend in his prime but who is to blame?

Tszyu was always the kind of fighter to fight anyone and he did beat everyone he could have. Anyone remember how highly touted Judah was before he did the chicken dance against Tszyu? If "He`s a Pernell Whitaker with a punch" isn`t high praise then I don`t know what is. Mosley skipped the weight class,De La Hoya won a trinket and then bolted,Mayweather.....well he was the worst,he pummeled Gatti(Who won it from Dorin) for a belt that was stripped from Tszyu and then left as well. I just think he was one of those highly avoided fighters. To much risk versus reward, like Vernon Forrest(Whom Tszyu decisively defeated in the amateurs).

I have seen 32 of Tszyu`s fights,29 of those being professional bouts, and I really appreciate his style. He had an odd rangefinder jab but good when he decided to use it,a cannon for a right hand(Wich he relied heavily upon,as does Pacqauio with his left),great sense of timing and distance, good hand speed, was always in position to punch, amazing at cutting off the ring, great combination puncher(More so in his early days),good chin, good heart, almost always went for the knockout, was a fun fighter to watch, and was a

Of course he isn't. But many were picking him to beat Tszyu at the time, and Kostya vaporized him. We can probably trace the source of Judah's mental problems back to that single right hand. :OhYes:

SO what if some fools were prematurely tagging greatness on Judah? Time has shown him to be a talented but very flawed front-runner. Boxing history is full of prospects turned duds who were proclaimed "the next Armstrong, the next Louis, the next Dempsey" etc. Beating them shouldn't merit greater acclaim b/c some were touting them at the time but history proved otherwise . .

And stop with this hall of FAME nonsense. Yes it's called a hall of fame but HOFs traditional purpose is not to simply reward popularity, it was to award achievement and quote on quote 'greatness' . . . .if it was truly a hall of fame than Butterbean should be on the first ballot.

I liked Tyszu as a fighter, he was very good but by my definition you have to do more than beat Judah, Mitchell and a way past-it Chavez to transcend to that next level.

Very true. Oscar had bigger fish to fry at 147, hence the short time at JWW. I mean, the washed up versions of Whitaker and Camacho weren't going to fight themselves after all. :bag:

Whitaker was the 147lb. champion --- Tszyu was a Vince Phillips victim. C'mon

Would anyone really agree with this guy that De La Hoya, "bolted" from Tszyu? To do what? Chase a fight with Trinidad? LOL.

Anyway, I voted Tszyu in, but I wouldn't be outraged at those making a case against him.

You are talking foolishness here.

Mayweather was trying to set up a super fight with Tszyu when Tszyu went and lost to Hatton. You Mayweather haters are ridiculous .

Anyway Tszyu is definitely HOF and a top 5 Light welterweight.
