Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
Another 1 round win, well done Larry
Re: Big Larry
Yep!
Well done Larry! Keep up the hard work and keep bombing people out!

Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
Larry looked great tonight! He was not just rushing widly at his opponent. He took his time and got the jab going, and that set up his power punches. When those land it is lights out!
I thought this was going to be a tough fight for Larry, but he really got the job done emphatically.

Nice interview after, Larry knows where he is with experience
Re: Big Larry
Look like no fornicator is going to let get him a few round in
Re: Big Larry
Well Daniel Peret did....still don't know how he lost to that fattie, i know Larry says he's moved on but i always liked to see boxer's rectify a loss.carlbcfc wrote:Look like no fornicator is going to let get him a few round in

I'd like to see Zack Page come over here, he has a great chin and tries to win sometimes. He'd give all these prospects something to think about.
Larry would learn alot in a fight with him.

Peret is one Fat fornicator. I bet he could make lightweight if he lost some of that fat. Some chin on him and he can infight quite well.
Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
Zack Page is a "world class" journeyman. If he fought Dallas, Price, Larry, Fury, Chisora, Sexton, and Towers, the chances are good he emerges with a win or two.Old bones Ian wrote:I'd like to see Zack Page come over here, he has a great chin and tries to win sometimes. Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
peret loss is bad but you can only really improve from there.
fair play to Larry. dave was a tough guy who'd not been stopped in two prizefighters.
a heavy who can hit is always welcome in this div as long as the opps continue to improve.
at this stage i was looking for homegrown british opps
so Larry has delivered.
Danny Hughes next !

Top stuff from big Larry
Well done fella.
Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
Nice win looked as strong as an ox but could do with some rounds now under his belt now though. The Czech guy fighting Price was a disgrace didn't need any encouragement to go down what a waste of time an money bringing him over.
Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
F**kin delighted for you Larry. Get in
Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
Larry is decent and it was a good performance but it's important to remember that Larry lost to Peret, which says a lot about his level. As far as people saying he has moved on, well let me see him vs Peret again before I judge. Something tells me he doesn't want that fight though. However, it was definitely a good performance last night.

Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
there wouldnt be any harm in a peret rematch. hes clearly improved since then.
danny hughes, coleman barrett, chris burton (has he retired?), paul Butlin
all decent enough at this stage.. early ko's of these guys would really put Larry in pole position for a british/english tilt

Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
Thank u all for your kind comments. I am glad I showed some skills defensively and offensively while it lasted and I showed that I can box. For the person who commented that I was avoiding rematch with Peret, that is not true. As I keep telling people i was out of sorts for that fight as I was moving house and working full time and training full time all together. Some people just don't want to accept that for some reason. Also I have now beaten two guys who have beaten Peret so that in itself vindicates me. But I am not avoiding Peret and if the opportunity arises I would like to fight Peret.
Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
There is no need to take a step backwards and fight Peret again, as it seems you are going forwards. But should the opportunity arise, I would like to see it. I think you would put him away next time. As you once said yourself, Hopkins & Haye lost early, and did not chase the rematch.

nice post, machoMachoMan09 wrote:Larry, it would be a backwards step to fight Peret again. Don't even bother contemplating it. Previously, I have criticised your boxing ability and believed you were too rigid to progress above and beyond knocking out journeymen. I was, therefore, impressed that you looked far more relaxed in there last night. If this positive trend continues, I think you could be a real threat. I hope you prove my initial doubts to be foolish.warmachine wrote:Thank u all for your kind comments. What about looking to fight a 6'7" + guy next time out? Other than Chisora, most of the future top-level domestic heavies are very tall indeed. Gaining some experience of closing the gap and chopping the tall men down would do you good, I reckon. Especially if the guy boxes well and uses his height effectively.
larry are you starting to feel more relaxed in there and is it helping do you think? do you feel you are starting to get a bit more 'instinctive'? in the ring you sometimes used to have an expression on your face like someone set you a riddle you couldn't understand, but I'm not seeing it so much from you now

lol thats classic mate, set me a riddle I couldn't understand. I will have to use that one. yeah I am much more relaxed in there and it does feel alot better and I think thats because i have alot more confidence in my abilities, especially my defence which wasn't that good b4 but now its so much better. And it will keep getting better God willing with the good sparring I am getting and the drills I am doing.Counter-puncher wrote:nice post, machoMachoMan09 wrote:Larry, it would be a backwards step to fight Peret again. haha glad you knew what i meant mate. keep up the good work
Re: Larry (Warmachine) Tonight. spoiler
I think it's clear that being more confident is paying dividends. Loading up less, far more relaxed, less stiff etc. Actually saw a lot more head movement too, slipped a couple of punches last night.
Was it the trip to Roach's gym or a combination of things?

That was an impressive finish. Looked like Ferguson was going to take him a few rounds and make a contest of it. But Larry certainly packs power.
