Re: Crease
I think it was a fair result JB, it was an even enough fight in my eyes...jBacca wrote:So what are you views on the Lewis - Barrera fight.?
Barrera seems to be something of a power puncher, and his opponents regularly fall before him (even in the fights he losses)...
For example Jem Driscoll fell twice in the penultimate round, and maybe another referee would have stopped the fight.
If I'm honest I was quietly confident about Barrera winning going into the fight but upon reading it, I would accept a draw...
In the first 2 rounds I thought Barrera wasn't going to last.
But in the 3rd round, Lewis did a lot of holding and he was hurt.
01:03 Ted Kid Lewis looks hurt... He's stumbling backward!
02:17 * The referee cautions Lewis about leaning on Barrera's neck, as he separates the two fighters.
In the end, I think the fight was pretty even... But I would say that Lewis is a dirty bugger.

Count the rounds, yano the most points accumulated equals the round win, and tell me what you came too..Crease wrote:I think it was a fair result JB, it was an even enough fight in my eyes...jBacca wrote:So what are you views on the Lewis - Barrera fight.?

I know what you are getting at... I seen it too.jBacca wrote:Count the rounds, yano the most points accumulated equals the round win, and tell me what you came too..
But it was Lewis' own fault for repeatedly comitting fouls... Others have been disqualified for it this season, and they've been ahead.
Re: Crease
Still should have had the fight by two rounds!Crease wrote:I know what you are getting at... I seen it too.jBacca wrote:Count the rounds, yano the most points accumulated equals the round win, and tell me what you came too..

Is the rematch on?
Re: Crease
Here's a chance to turn over a new leaf...
Re: Crease
No, not at the moment JB...jBacca wrote:Is the rematch on?
Don't me wrong Lewis is a good fighter (currently ranked 11th - so he can't be that bad).
But Barrera has been annoying me as of late because of his inconsistency...
In the past, he beat Sanchez and drew with Pep even though he had won more rounds.
These are excellent achievements...
Yet, he loses to Palma and Olivares...
(not direspect to them, they are good fighters and their managers know that).
***
In the space of the next few weeks I am going to match Barrera with THE BEST and see how it goes...
We will see how far Barrera's punching power carries him...
This week (Week 14) he is fighting Kid Chocolate (currently ranked 8th) and former WBC and WBA Champion.
Then, next week (Week 15) I am matching him (hopefully) against Henry Armstrong (Currently ranked 5th) and former NABA Champion.
Then, (Week 16) I'll be looking at Saddler, or Arguello (if he has not still the Champion).
Lewis is another good fighter... I'm sure he will hold a variation of the World Title somewhere along the line this season...

Re: Crease
However JB, you know that I am a man of my word...
This is my Second season here, and I have NEVER went back on my word, or pulled out of a fight that I have signed.
I will make you a gentleman's oath that:
I will match Barrera against Lewis any time from Week 18 or after it...
(Of course the only stipulation is, if Barrera is awarded a title shot he can pull out until you want that fight).

Re: Crease
Crease, do the honourable thing and settle the dodgy draw sooner, rather than later.
Re: Crease
Lewis and Barrera will fight again... There will be a rematch.hitman09 wrote:Here's a chance to turn over a new leaf...
However the next 2 weeks Barrera is on a crusade to fight the top guys!
Re: Crease
If you look at it as a numbers game... But in fairness, Lewis was hurt a few times in the fight.jBacca wrote:Still should have had the fight by two rounds!
Barrera was never stumbling.
Re: Crease
In the future, after Week 18 or so... I give you my word.jBacca wrote:Is the rematch on?
I already promised my fighter to be scarificed for the next few weeks.

It's a simulated game on the computer - of course it's a numbers game!!!Crease wrote:If you look at it as a numbers game... But in fairness, Lewis was hurt a few times in the fight.jBacca wrote:Still should have had the fight by two rounds!
