Brilliant video.

Still hard to watch him taking a beating at the hands of Gomez though.

I think it was ruled as suicide and his wife was released without charge.

Yep. The family ordered an autopsy by a Canadian doctor, and he determined it was a suicide. The wife received $100,000 from Gatti's estate and will be getting $2000 a month in alimony. She is now in a legal battle with Gatti's family over the other $6 million he has.

Thank you for this link. He may not have been the best boxer (better than the suggested club level, surely), but Gatti was a true warrior, a great fighter and very exciting to watch. I would much rather watch a Gatti fight than a, for example, Mayweather one. He always fought with passion. R.I.P Arturo Gatti.

:o Better than a club fighter Rhino. I saw him beat Shea Neary, he had way too much for the previously unbeaten Neary.

Ward was never a world beater but much higher than a club fighter!

He was a genuine world top 15 in his day, an achievment to be proud of and a true warrior to boot.

Great Gatti tribute by the way, what a warrior. :box:

I agree Ward was way above 'club' level. Thats pretty laughible bearing in mind some of the guys he beat. If he was club level then fornicate knows what Shea Neary, Alfonso Sanchez and Reggie Green were. :-)

I agree that he was a lot better than a 'clubfighter', but I don't think he had "way too much for the previously unbeaten Neary" - it was pretty even until he was stopped.

I have not seen the fight since watching it live at the event so maybe overstated that one. However, Ward having too much was and is my abiding memory from the fight.

I really rated Neary and fancied his chances before the fight. He went out on his shield but Ward definatley was a level above what Neary had been fighting at IMO; an opinion formed from my misty, time-hazed recollection.

Great fighter to watch, overrated by many though and was normally found wanting against the better fighters

I've read "A champion gets up even when he can't." Arturo Gatti, then, was surely a champion.

Can only echo previous comments - that's a superb piece of film-making and a fitting tribute to a ring legend.
