If he didnt have such a good beard he would have been out of there. :(
Mate, people on here havebeen trying to tell you for a long time that Duddy is simply not a top fighter. A media contrived average fighter, blown up into something he is not to exploit the pockets of the Irish Americans.

The Chavez fight simply proved this to be the case.
Agreed. Duddy is a tough tough man and by god he is in some crackers. However, he's just not even in the B class, never mind A class. Chavez Jr is limited and was made to look like Manny Pacquiao at times in there, bouncing the punches off Duddys head. The jab was rocking Duddys head back. Defense is not his strong point is it? However, he is a warrior, no doubt. The topic up for discussion is his level. And it is clearly not world class.

very true. Duddy is a hard, tough man, that much is certain.

He is great to watch as he puts it on the line and has plenty of courage. He just doesn`t have the skills or the punch to mix it with the best.

I hope he considers his future now, as with the courage he has, he could end up in one to many beatings that leave their mark and affect his health.

"people on here have been trying to tell you for a long time" - when have I ever said Duddy was great? I've always known his limitations and if you have read any of my articles going back as far as the Yori Boy Campas fight then you would have known that.

I did however think he and a little more power in his shots then he actually obviously had against Chavez.

"media contrived average fighter for Irish Americans" - well wide of the mark again, people followed Duddy because they like him as a person and the way he fought - face first - not because they thought he was a great fighter.

I am not going to run him down because he actually went up in my estimation as a man on the weekend but I have never said (nor have any Irish fans on here that I am aware of) that he was world class.

Nice guy, limited fighter....still a test for the likes of Macklin I agree, but as someone said, he's lucky his chin is strong otherwise he'd have been found out a while back.
