Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Rumours surfacing that this fight is down for September 3rd.

Cant see them having a good top of the bill fight on an undercard in Scotland. They will put it on in the South with the Walsh brothers on the undercard for the Norfolk supporters.Simpson-Smith is already a superb fight alongside Martinez-Burns,no room for this one up there

there would be because it's a 3 hour show, but like you say it will more then likely be in norwich.mickey1975 wrote:Cant see them having a good top of the bill fight on an undercard in Scotland. They will put it on in the South with the Walsh brothers on the undercard for the Norfolk supporters.Simpson-Smith is already a superb fight alongside Martinez-Burns,no room for this one up there

Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Sexton has this fight won, due to his superior boxing skills and professional growth since their first fight. Their first fight, which was a 6 rounder was stopped but 20 seconds before the end, Sexton winning by a round or 2 on the card at the time, and Sexton was up right on his feet with his hands up defending well. He was not dazed or caught and Sexton had just come off a flurry where he had Chisora pinned, the ref jumped in even though only 1 of 5-6 punch flurry Chisora threw actually landed, the rest where on the guard and Sexton had his hands up and walking backwards taking the power off the shots.. Anyway that history.
In an interview between Sexton and Steve Bunce after Sexton v Rogan 1. Bunce brings up Chisora during their conversation, and Bunce agrees that Sexton in the Chisora fight did not need to be stopped and that it was clear Sexton was not really hurt.
Look at what Sexton has done in the couple years since their first fight, Sexton has come through some wars against a tough Rogan that would have beat Chisora, Sexton further won twice in the most hospitable of places. Chisora has not really fought anyone of note since their match up, and until he gets a good defence of the British Title, he is just a token holder in my eyes as Williams was shot to pieces.. Nor has Chisora got in many rounds against a top quality boxer like Sexton, I don't think he ready to be defending the British against the likes of Sexton, Dallas and Price who can't be far off a crack.
Sexton has shown he can deal with bangers and those who come forward onto him, by out boxing Rogan, who lest not forget convincingly beat Harrison and Skelton prior to taking on Sexton, and winning the prizefighter showed us allot about Sexton. Chisora won't have the tools and hasn't really been tested since they last fought.
Granted Chisora has a punchers chance, but Sexton of today is by far the biggest test Chisora will have faced and I don't think he's got the tools to over come Sexton. Chisora is a good fighter, I think he has had the British Title handed to him a bit too easily and the likes of Sexton, Price and Dallas, the boxers of the Heavyweight could all take it from him.
Chisora will get out boxed and loose unless he lands a bomb, when Chisora looses he should fight Larry Olimbamiwo for the Southern or Fury for the English and Dallas should be up for a crack at one of those titles in the meantime.
When Sexton wins the British and defeats Chisora there won't really be a domestic opponents worth his while. Straight to Euro and onto the gate keepers of the world heavies it should be.

Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Hmm... Chisora has improved too since that fight and I wouldn't think it's as foregone a conclusion as you do.
Chisora has got never been as hurt as Sexton has been in his fights. He's been wobbly several times so there are question marks about his chin. As for his ability, it was certainly a close fight either way last time between the two but I think Chisora was getting to him and the stoppage came early but looked like it was going to come if the fight had went on.
I think Chisora gets Sexton going and finishes the job.

The whole fight used to be on youtube, but the last part was taken down a year ago. Don't think Fwank wants us all to see the stoppage.. LOLfunso banjo baby wrote:Sexton has improved hugely and is the top dog on the british scene.

I can't seem to find the whole fight any where on the net. I was there on the night however and I had Sexton up 1 round at the end of the 6th and winning the 6th, as did most I spoke to. If it had gone another 15-20 secs and final bell was rung, Sexton would have taken it 4 rounds to 2 imo.
Either way, this will be a cracker and single out our top domestic heavy! If it is in Norfolk, that would be even better!! Sam hasn't had a title fight in Norfolk yet and I think Fwank should reward him one and give him a homecoming for the British. Would have to be at Carrow Road I think for capacity reasons as I think pretty much anyone in Norfolk who has a slight interest in Boxing would be out for this. Get the Walshes on the bill to for a Area, maybe even Danny McIntosh if that's possible, defending his English! What a cracker!
Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
They say Sam Sexton guns for revenge in a challenge for the British heavyweight title held by Derek Chisora in the autumn. They say Sexton's Commonwealth heavyweight title is also at stake.
Norwich man Sexton was stopped - on his feet – by Chisora in the sixth and final round at York Hall in 2008 in a close fight up to the stoppage. Sexton went on to win Prizefighter and then his Commonwealth belt with a surprise stoppage of Belfast's previously unbeaten Martin Rogan in Belfast, a man he also stopped in a rematch, so he deserves this second go at Chisora, who has also pushed on, culminating in quick stoppages of Carl Baker and Danny Williams to take his unblemished record to 13-0 (8). Chisora, the only man to beat Sexton in 14 outings, needed just two rounds to see off veteran Williams for the British title.
The brash Londoner has the edge in power over Sexton and the psychological edge, of course, although Sexton has the edge in boxing skill and, on reflection, is the more improved man since last time. Nevertheless, this fascinating clash of ambitious heavyweight youngsters could go either way.

Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Sam Sexton for me.
Since their last fight Sexton has come on in leaps and bounds, won Prizefighter and has been in2 hard fights with Martin Rogan that will stand him in very good stead.
If anyone can show me a clip of Derek Chisora overcoming a 2 round period where he has to dig as deep as Sexton did here....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns3wGO5kTK4
then I'd be interested to see it.

Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
I don’t think the fight will be made ultimately, Tyson Fury will end up taking the fight next:
• Chisora British
• Sexton British/Commonwealth
• Povetkin European
• Dallas British/Commonwealth
• Price European/British/Commonwealth/Lonsdale
• Vitali European
• Chisora British
• Sexton British/Commonwealth

Are oyu claimig Tyson Fury is going to fight Povetkin for the european title? Or Vitali for the European title?Mic wrote:I don’t think the fight will be made ultimately, Tyson Fury will end up taking the fight next:

Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
And Fury will fight Povetkin for the euro ?
Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
What other fight will Povetkin take?
Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Well he wont drop down to take a european title, I'll tell you that for the price of fish fingers. Also, even if he did, he wouldnt be fighting Tyson Fury, and if by some magical mysterious mystical spell the fight did happen Povetkin would batter him form pillar to post him.
I know Ive been away for about 3 or 4 months, but things havent got this bad, have they?
Are people on here really contemplating Fury facing Povetkin next!!? Povetkin dropping his #1 rank to fight a wimpering gypsy novice.

Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Of course it will be made, it's a huge fight the fans want to see. Also it's traditional the British and Commonwealth meet and with Sexton and Chisora being the top 2 heavies with history, why wouldn't it be made?Mic wrote:I don’t think the fight will be made ultimately, Tyson Fury will end up taking the fight next:

Tyson is not in league with Sexton or Chisora yet, he needs to fight a few more times and more rounds. Rogan would be a good test for fury. I think Rogan would walk straight through Furys wide punches and open guard.

is this silly ?
Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Am I right in thinking Sexton is still the mandatory for the British, sure his second win over Rogan was a final eliminator? Fury will have to wait I think.
p.s. I know it was while ago , but I don't remember too many complaints about the stoppage against Chisora at the time....

Anybody else get the feeling that mic is that berk 'Superheavyweight' in disguise.
Re: Chisora vs Sexton September 3rd - who wins?
Yes Rogan v Sexton 2 was final eliminator for the British. There was not many complaints about the Sexton v Chisora stoppage at the time as it was a relative low profile fight at the time and being in London 99% of the fans where behind Chisora and so where the commentators even tho Chisora had been out boxed and was loosing on points. Also Fwank said to both Sexton and Chisora before the fight, who ever wins becomes my golden heavy, Fwank has always preferred Chisora because of where he comes from, the fan base he had and his Tyson style look.whiteboy wrote:Am I right in thinking Sexton is still the mandatory for the British, sure his second win over Rogan was a final eliminator? But it's ok, that just mean Sexton could get payback and the British all in 1 fight, plus that loss I think launched Sextons career, bringing the Southern Area, Prizefighter and Commonwealth his way.. It does baffle me tho, how Sexton has gone on to win these things and yet Fwank does almost no press releases or media work with Sexton. Chisora has had several media items on the fwank website.
