Mike The Giant White, he wasnt seven foot tall though; he was 6'10"

Impressive outing for the former light heavyweight Moorer however, considering White had previsouly defeated James Buster Douglas I believe

Who looks taller to you?, Mike"The Giant"White" or Marcellus Brown?
White (listed at 6 ft 10 inches tall)weighed 275 lbs when he fought Moorer,
Brown(listed at 7 ft.) weighed 231 lbs with an 86 inch reach.
Both Morrison and Moorer are 6 ft 2 inches tall.

The fact is... Ali got the living bejabbers knocked out of him... Blasted to the canvas by Banks, Cooper, and Frazier... His jaw shattered by Norton.. battered badly by Holmes.. Ali was easy to hit and he paid dearly for it.. Wilt was massively bigger, taller, badder, and bolder than those operators -- What they lacked in spectacular size, strength, height, weight, reach, range, speed, power, and brilliance, Wilt could produce... The negotiated contact that Ali refused to sign called for Chamberlain to have 6 months to train and learn Boxing...and he was probably the greatest pure athlete ever, in any sport.

Ali was not an exceptional athlete who excelled at sports in general.. He wasn't even a good all-around boxing technician. He lacked power and body punching skills... In fact, he had no body attack at all.. He was loaded with flaws, dropped his hands, and leaned straight back from punches.. That would be suicide versus Chamberlain because of his titanic reach and his hand speed... but Ali couldn't help it because he was loaded with bad habits..

Everyone knows Ali got hit too much.. Ali suffered more than one crushing upset loss in his career.. He was expected to beat Ken Norton and Leon Spinks easily.. They had never beaten a known athlete before in their lives but dominated Ali.. Wilt Chamberlain was extremely versatile and multi-talented athlete who picked up boxing points so quickly he astounded top boxing trainer and guru Cus D'Amato.. Now, as we know, D'Amato is the man responsible for the success of such great World Champions as Mike Tyson, Floyd Patterson, and Jose Torres.. Chamberlain would have been just another one of his miracles.. Cus guided Floyd Patterson to the Heavyweight Championship by age 21.. Cus guided Mike Tyson to the Heavyweight Championship by age 20.. They didn't just win the title, they dominated.. As Canelo would say Cus didn't "Fk around".

So why didn’t Chamberlain vs Ali happen?

http://www.thesweetscience.com/news/art ... hamberlain

Arum, now 82 and recovering from knee-replacement surgery, was not available for comment, but in Hauser’s book he said Chamberlain’s very large feet got cold at an Astrodome press conference to announce the bout.

“I said, `Ali, shut your mouth. Let’s get him signed to the contract before you start riding him.’

Ali told me not to worry. Then Chamberlain comes in, and Ali shouts `Timber!’

Chamberlain turns white, goes into the next room with his lawyer, comes out and says he’s not fighting.

“I think Ali intimidated him; that’s all it was. At the moment of truth, Wilt realized that fighting Ali was a totally ridiculous concept.”

It was a circus for everybody but Wilt Chamberlain... He was aching to do something he wasn't allowed to do... He got disgusted with Ali bragging about how the fight would go but never signing the contract... Especially people making fun of him and he had no way to prove himself. He moved on.

:TU: This. They could have only fought an exhibition anyway, which, as we all know is usually a farce.
