Four Nations V Team CUBA

Post by ABA Boxing »

Now i have posted this on my site but am not sure if some of the Four Nations lads have changed!

KEVIN EVENS (WAL) might be out and Simmons (SCO) might be in & some confussion about some other lads. The Cuban Boxers are from a cuban source as of last night, but of course could change! :o

Also 2 Cubans missing at 75kg & 64kg im sure they will bring someone at those weights

The cuban side are all quite young with the exception of there Great Mario Kindelan, so could be some interesting match ups & some possible great future Champions in the Cuban team :TU:

Last night ABA & Four Nation's champion Frankie Gavin, 19, took on undisputed World Number One and reigning Olympic Champion Mario Kindelan up in Liverpool.

Birmingham's Gavin, in his first full season as a senior, performed admirably to take Kindelan to a decision, losing by a relatively narrow 18-7 pts margin.

Whilst I didnt get to see the fight myself his trainer at Hall Green ABC told me he boxed superbly and I think considering his age and experience, this is a fantastic result.

If it wasn't for Khan-O-Mania this lad would be getting far more hype and column inches - look out for him at the Commonwealths and quite possibly the 2008 Olympics. Lets see how Khan gets on with Kindelan, if his proposed 30th April bout does indeed come off.

Was anyone there who can give view on this and the other bouts?

Not a bad result going by the scores by Gavin as we all know Kindelan my be getting old but he is still something a bit special.

Great result for the towering Price, anyone know much about Vajarano?

I'm looking forward to watching the bouts tomorrow on BBC2.

I hope they don't cut the bouts in half again like they did with the four nations though.
