Re: Tonite's official weights
Official weigh-in was initially scheduled for 7pm. On Monday fight supervisor John Hogg was told it was changed to 6, which is consistent with ANBF Qld rules.
However, when he rolled-up was told Mundine & Jerez had already weighed-in at 4pm - supervised by WBA fight supervisor & referee Derek Milham......using Mundine's scales.
It's not a WBA title fight, albeit publicized as such, therefore shouldn't have been accepted, but I guess there was very little Hogg could do.
Mundine had in the past requested his scales be used, but request was denied.
You can believe Mundine made the weight if you like........I DON"T

Re: Tonite's official weights
When you say there is very little he could do... does he have the power to not sanction the fight? That would be a pretty good thing to do.
Re: Tonite's official weights
ANBF Qld is not a government regulator, therefore, there's a limit what it can do.Marlin wrote:When you say there is very little he could do... does he have the power to not sanction the fight? That would be a pretty good thing to do.
It could distance its judges from the fight, but is it worth the trouble?
Probably the very reason the fight is in Queensland. This wouldn't be possible in other States, where government bodies run the shop.
Re: Tonite's official weights
Yep, I know that is why he has had to move a few of his fights up there because they wouldn't be sactioned down here.
I can't believe that anyone could not see that this is a farce.

Re: Tonite's official weights
The weight is really unimportant. Whilst he craps on he'll be around for another 4 years & will take on so & so & so & so, I wouldn't at all be surprised if he in the not too distant future summons a press conference & says; "THANK YOU SUCKERS.......MY DAYS IN THE RING ARE OVER"

Re: Tonite's official weights
Where did Anthony get the scales? A bathroom supplies shop?
Re: Tonite's official weights
He's standing on them @ this media weigh-in

Re: Tonite's official weights
The tinnie scales probably borrowed from a bath house on Oxford Street or Kens at Kensington, where this picture will take pride of place!
Re: Tonite's official weights
What time fight starts? Will it be shown on TV? And will it be shown somewhere on internet? Thanks

OMG
Re: Tonite's official weights
It's amazing that these 2 have met up, SBW and Mundine, it's kind of like 2 for 1........you get to see 2 idiots possibly get knocked out
And this is Mundines ploy to reel the fans back, "you don't just get to hate on Me, Sonny might get knocked out as well, it's a bargin ask anyone".
Great work team mundine, great work

Re: Tonite's official weights
Haters will hate. Mundine clearly looks 8kgs lighter, the pictures tell a thousand words. Keep hating though, it's funny
Re: Tonite's official weights
I dont hate, I have boxed and many of the posters on this forum are or have been involved in the game in and out of ring. I echo some of the posters by saying he look very weight drained and ill. Please notice his skin, that is a look of a man who has not drunken anything nor eaten in a day or so! He looks unwell.hussein wrote:Haters will hate. Re: Tonite's official weights

Re: Tonite's official weights
Yes given the hype around SBW wanting to play for the All Blacks- there seems to be hardly any interest in NZ to see him part take in this "novelty" fight. That being said football is dominating the press/media no one really gives a shit....
Re: Tonite's official weights
He will have a problem if Hogan falls on him. You have heard of Hulk Hogan? This bloke is Bulk Hogan!Rogue wrote:Yes given the hype around SBW wanting to play for the All Blacks- there seems to be hardly any interest in NZ to see him part take in this "novelty" fight.
