Tony Dodson vs Tony Bellew?

Post by Cotto16 »

Now that dodson has moved up to lightheavyweight, why not make this fight dodson is much better than the last few fighters tony bellew boxed.

dodson should have fought up at l.heavy along time ago.

after boxing russian elvis michalenko he didnt want no part of 12-7 fighters & bellew is A league above :!:

your talking target practice.

maybe he felt with small gloves he'd swat a smaller man.

but that sum's dodson up, he has to feel the bigger & stronger.

i think dodson needs a few 6 or 8 rounders and build him self up again due to 2x12round fights in 2 years

bellew knocked em daft at heavy as an amateur and looks to be a full time professional. tony dodson turned pro too soon and went off the boil. tony wouldn't be able to get past the jab and would get chopped up. i don't mind dodsons style of fighting and he gives it everything but he doesn't fight often enough to have enough in the tank to pull the win out. bellew looks to be heading in a different direction altogether (if he has the stamina).

dont think this fight would ever come off!

both guys really like 1 another, so its not like the other fights in liverpool e.g. smith dodson or quig dodson. where they really wanted to fight each other, they both get on well and talk on a regular basis.

i have to say tho another all scouse affair would certainly generate local interest and with other scousers on the bill am sure it would be a good enough event to get the echo arena as a venu and hopefully fill it up

if dodson cant make the weight no more and is serious about moving up to l. heavy this could be a realistic fight choice, as he would be gaurenteed a good pay day and a chance to fight infront of his home city once again.

as for bellew personaly i think this fight would be a good choice as dodson is proven and known for being very tough, bellew has blown away allot of his opponents in the first few rounds, but this fight could get him some valuable rounds and also a good scalp on his record and the chance to headline a show in his back garden.

dont think it will happen but i dont see no reason why it shouldnt.

Going off topic, Whatever happened to Elivs Mihailenko - he was top ten at one stage then kind of dissapeared.

didn't dodson come on here and tell g0mez knew nothing for suggesting he was struggling to make 168 and should move up to 175?

if he doesn't feel he's big enough, and given that bellew's considerably fresher and bigger, it looks like a bellew KO. but dodson does have an aggressive style, he will push an opponent hard (as in that great fight with quigley) before the seemingly inevitable fade.

have we seen bellew backed up yet? we've seen his impressive offensive skills, but does anyone know what he will be like under some pressure? if dodson maybe brings in the game/the attitude that michael gomez did for khan, who knows, maybe it could be a good fight.

but surely bellew would be a considerable favourite to win by KO.

I spoke to Tony the other day as he's procviding us with his wisdom via a guest columnist spot in our mag.

Without wanting to give too much away, he said he was considering LH due to the fact he might be stronger but he still believes his future lies at SM as long as he's got adequate preperation time.

A fight with him and Bellew will never happen.
