Degale says that he can beat Groves, Magee and Smith

Post by Cotto16 »

I think he is potentially very, very good. He's come across a bit of a div so far- shame because by all accounts on a personal level he's meant to be a very, very likable lad. He's an over achiever already but he's definately got some class about him. I think he could be world class. I think he would beat Magee and Groves now. I think Smith is too much for him at this stage.

Experience counts for a lot in this game.. Although am background stands you in very goos stead.. :TU:

The Smith fight won't happen unless for a world title and I really don't see him fighting Groves unless it goes to purse bids, Magee will also go through other avenues.. ;;-)

I wonder if Degale will always end up making too many amateurish mistakes in some sort of quest to prove himself a Naz/Pernell style virtuouso. I'd really just like to see him tightening up on fundamentals rather than trying to look flash, when he does that (looking flashy) he reminds me of a slightly more heralded and talented version of Anthony Small. and that can't really be a good thing, can it?

I'd pick Magee over any of the pretenders right now.

Maybe in the future.

Didn't everyone's favourite activist, Anthony Small beat Degale up in sparring ? or is that a gym rumour..

Over Achiever already.............whos he boxed Sam Horton for a Micky mouse title????????/ Shows the class of Horton in pri.ze fighter last night,Paul Smith would beat him no bother Deagale was on the floor a few time in ams i am told .............Think smith would be to much for him,Degale wants to be moved up slow Kenny Anderson would be a start or like of Carl Dilks whos a good lad. My Opinion only

degales is being matched poorly & it's hard to gauge if he'd be a threat to smith, who also has boxed alot of poor opposition until entering contender & moving up in weight to establish himself.
degale is not established & needs the fights to suggest he's the country's best, but is being led down the mickey mouse route.& it's pathetic to suggest he'll fight smith only for a world title :!:

i think groves is gona be the top dog at that weight. He has so much class and a great pro style also a good brain just lacks experiance. He is willing to fight anyone too.

I think DeGale gave up on the idea of getting down to middleweight, which he said initially he was going to fight at.

My thoughts also mate :TU: to be honest he's a supermiddle why not throw him I. With a full blown suppermidleweight insted of blown up Middles then if he handles that I would be impressed groves smashes him to bits thow imo :TU:

I think Degale would beat all of those three, but we will never get to see those fights with all the usual ducking n diving.

I think Degale looks the best prospect at 12st.I really think Groves will come unstuck sooner rather than later...

I agree. He wont like it when he gets in with someone who can hit and move - especially forcing him on the back foot.

yeah but by the same token gasman- i can see it the other way too- what happens if Degale fights Groves, and is caught with stupid shots while doing his anthony small impression? i really don't think someone as heavyhanded as Groves is the type to be practising your 'I never trained at the Ingle gym but I sure try to look like i did' moves.

Groves would take a match with DeGale in a heartbeat. :box:

It won't happen for ages and DeGale went with the wrong promoter if he wanted the glory fights so soon in his career. Should have gone with Hayemaker or Hennessy, but then again, his big mouth would be put to the test, so he's probably best off where his is...spouting off in his SN protected cacoon.
