I don't think he has done enough to earn a place yet. His British title fights were messy and they didn't convince me he deserved a place in the rankings.

If he can defend the British title one more time then he will probably enter the rankings.
See Lemon boy the even the mighty HORSE agrees 'Smiggas' title fights were poor

Wake up call wrote:Err... Bernard Dunne is retired isn't he? And Andy Lee and John Duddy shouldn't be in a British list as neither of them are eligible for the British title.

Technically Duddy is British as he was born in Northern Ireland but that's a whole other story and I'm told he's not eligible for the British or even the Euro belt if he wanted to go for them because he's lived in America for so long.
I plan to remove Dunne in the September list, unless he announces he will be making a comeback before then.

The Irish fighters have (Irish) next to their names to show that they are Irish.

Some Irish fighters are eligible for the British title and some are not. I thought it was sensible to include them all to avoid confusion regarding whether an Irish fighter should be in the rankings or not.
Wake up call wrote:Smigga should defo be in and where's Tony Bellew?
Smith is close to a place after winning two British title fights, another good win should be enough for him to enter. Bellew hasn't really beaten anyone very good yet, so I don't feel he deserves a place at the moment.
Wake up call wrote:Also how can you have Sam Sexton in and not Derek Chisora when Del Boy beat Sexton?
Since they fought Chisora's best wins are against Williams and Baker, Sexton's are against Rogan x2 and his Prizefighter wins. I consider Sexton's wins to be better.
Wake up call wrote:Mick Jennings and Gary Sykes can't be far off top 30 either.
After British title wins over Morris and O'Hara as well as his eliminator win over Crolla: Sykes is one of the leading contenders for a place in the rankings.

Jennings has not beaten a fighter that would be considered at "decent British title challenger" level or above since he beat Minter over two years ago and Takaloo over three years ago. Jennings might be a good fighter but his overall opposition level has been poor. If the Brook fight comes off and he wins then he will enter.

Elcock - The Finn doesn't beat Munroe's record, for me.

You're almost as bad as Flint Island used to be with his Enzo fetish, 90% of your posts are 'Smigga' related

'Smigga' is omitted because his last two fights were so dire he doesn't merit inclusion in the Top 100
versus enzo getting sparked in 3 of his last 5, and harrison fighting his usual dire fight against sprott until his miracle happened.

I view a lot of posts on here, but post very seldom. loving the fact you have checked what i post on you total spoon. And diggler is right, i post on another website, and post on a variety of topics thank you very much.
Without taking the piss are you a family friend or something because he is rite all u go an about it Paul smith or the smith family an on he other website u have a picture of the brothers I'm not taking the piss before u hit bk just wondering why the huge interest

i presume this question is from you terrdilk.

i am just a fan, who attends fights, and has met the brothers once mate. It is basically about being a fan. For example in football, you either support a team, or you don't. It's as simple as that to be honest

wrimc wrote:Although i like the general set up of the list why keep Dune Hatton and Witter so high when they are inactive yet penalise other boxers who are probably of better ability eg Jennings out of the list. Either judge boxers on their considered p4p ability or their current achievements
Jennings has not shown that he has more ability than Dunne, Hatton or Witter.

I think Hatton and Witter would beat Jennings if they fought him and I also believe Dunne is a more talented fighter than Jennings.

He got sparked by a nobody and since has had a title shot purchased for him and since avoided anyone dangerous in his division.
Since his loss to Prescott Khan has beaten Barrera, Kotelnik and Malignaggi.

I believe his win over Malignaggi was enough to put him above Hatton, as beating Malignaggi was Hatton's last win and that was over 18 months ago.

I wouldn't have moved Khan ahead of Froch if Hatton hadn't been a place above Froch.

I felt Khan had done enough to move ahead of Hatton, so I decided to move Khan ahead of him, even though I didn't think he really deserved to be ahead of Froch.

I moved Mitchell from 14th up to 8th place in March after he beat Mendoza, this was mostly to move Cook, Dunne, Witter & Woods down the rankings. Normally he wouldn't have jumped up this much for a fairly meaningless win, but there were a lot of inactive/retired fighters just above him, so I decided to move him above those fighters.

Although he has good wins against Johanneson and Prescott, Mitchell's record is fairly poor overall. Mitchell is a few places higher than he should be, if the results go the right way then he should fall a number places in the next few months.

Putting Irish fighters in, including ones who retired months ago, kind of makes a mockery of it being a British p4p list. Fighters representing the Republic of Ireland are foreign boxers if you are British.

The reasons for not including Jennings etc don't hold water when you persist in keeping Junior Witter in. Personally he'd be in my list, but your stated criteria means he really shouldn't be in yours. I mean, this is a man who has only beaten Victor Hugo Castro in the past two and a half years.

Regarding the Del Boy - Sexton situation. Derek is the British champion. That is a much more prestigious title than the Commonwealth these days. He beat Sexton. End of.

I entered Watson in May after he won the Commonwealth title at Light Middleweight.

Watson is a two weight Commonwealth champion and has wins over R.L. Taylor x2, Lomax, Nuumbembe, M. Hatton, B. Jones and Lusambya.

I have explained my reasoning, if you disagree with it then that is up to you.

What stated criteria?

I think Jennings record is too weak for him to have a place in the rankings. Jennings doesn't even have a win as good as Witter's Castro win in the last two years. So even Witter's recent record is better than Jennings's.

Witter is still in the rankings because he is/was World class, and it takes a fighter high in the list longer to fall out of the rankings than a lowly ranked fighter (and rightly so). Jennings was never a World class fighter, so he fell out of the rankings fairly quickly when he stopped beating decent fighters.

Sexton beat Rogan for his title and defended it against him when Rogan was ranked in the top 30. Chisora beat Williams after he had just lost to Carl Baker.

Chisora beat Sexton before Sexton had achieved anything, so the win doesn't count for much now. Sexton has a better record than Chisora.

If Chisora beats Sexton in September then he enters the rankings.
