Re: Nino Benvenuti vs. Mike McCallum...
oh, 12 rounds at 154, Benvenuti every time IMO.
why? because 12 rounds wouldn't be long enough for the 154lbs version of McCallum to impose himself on Benvenuit, IMO.
If Milt McCrory survives 11 rounds or whatever it was with Mike, no way can Nino be stoped by him inside 12 (though over 15 he may have a chance) and the better movement and boxing craft of Benvenuti at this stage of Mike's career is too much for him. also i think you'd see Benvenuti with more commitment to, and success with, the jab.
at 160 or over 15 rounds I would pick McCallum FWIW.

Isn't there a significant size difference here?

Id go for McCallum SD. However if it was in Italy id go Benvenuti.... It would be close for sure. Could go either way.

This would be a very close fight which would depend on what the judges favor regarding sharp punching and aggression. Forced to pick I'll say Nino on a SD. Griffith was better and more active than Mike and if Benvenuti can beat him I say he can edge the Bodysnatcher.
