Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
Tremendous fight, credit to Maloney for putting it on and Sky giving it the airtime it deserved- fantastic performance from Curtis proved himself to be a fine fighter. Stefy as always gave it a great fight but I think he proved himself to be one of the top domestic boys. The Gavin fight could be a fun one.
Well done Curtis and Steffy- great show. Congrats.

Godding Haywood another good match up. The undercard far outshone the main event tonight.
Re: Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
frankie is going to smash him
Re: Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
Really? You think the lad who's spent his life boxing, who was a world champion as an amateur, is going to beat the guy who until a few years ago was a professional footballer? Bold pick.mikeyt wrote:frankie is going to smash him
In fairness though, Gavin-Woodhouse should be fun. As mentioned, Curtis will be in there to win. Can't wait.

Gavin is a different class (sorry Curtis) but you know Curtis will try his heart out. Mcdonagh landed a fair few good shots on Gavin whose defence, for me, can be a little lax at times. Its a good match. I'm looking forward to it.

never mind is gavin gunna smash him. I'd be willing to give a 1000-1 that woodhouse doesn't win or even share a single round against gavin.states wrote:Really? No disrespect to the kid but he's fighting one of the best tallents in world boxing. IMO
Re: Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
What I mean is that it'll be fun to see Gavin in against a guy coming to win. He's such an awesome counter-puncher, it'll be great to see him showing that off. Better than seeing him in against a guy who's backing up with gloves up all night.

just got back from the show it was a very good night of boxing gutted stefy lost but curtis boxed well and u cant take nothing away from him spoke to stefy after the fight and he said well done to curtis and that he just tired... there was alot off pressure on stefy he had to get himself ready and sort jamie out for his bout he had to make sure jamie was 100% ready and also had to try and keep his mind on his fight but fair play to curtis he got the win and you cant take nothing away from him but can i just say that was a brilliant fight for the domestic scene alot of heart and will shown very proffesional display of boxing well done guys!!

First off all well done last night curtis, an I think the fight will happen curtis is a game strong man but in all seriousness I think he needs a lot more than that we had a bit of banter last night an I don't no why I rised to it cause in my eyes he ent british title level similar to peter mcdonagh just stronger but less experience, I don't think he will have ever been in the ring with someone like me, I know I have marked in fights (always head clashes) an been hit a bit but that's because like someone wrote I have been a big favourite an never gave the fighters the respect maybe I should instead of thinkin I will walk through him but since I went points I ent thinking I need to stop them now. An against woodhouse should be my best performance imo I got where I am using my brain reflexes an making boxers miss an then punishing them that's what I aim to do sep 18th the fights in my hands a good performance I win a bad then anythin can happen. but I'm 100 percent sure I will win.
Re: Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
A fighter's post. If Frankie can win a world amateur title, he should be able to get past Curtis, although Curtis has surprised me. The whole footballer-fighter angle left me cold when he turned pro. It felt like a gimmick. However, time has proved that Curtis Woodhouse is all fighter.

Re: Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
One of Cottos best early performances came against a guy called Martinez- martinez was different to nearly everyone else he boxed in the fact that he came to give it a real go. It was a beltiing little fight and Cotto got to show a little bit more then he would of against another journeyman. You've been matched well thus far Frankie and i'm a big fan. Wouldn't worry too much about getting hit now and then- your not Hector Camacho- you come to have a fight and entertain. I was merely making the point to say that Curtis is not completely without chance as in boxing it only takes one mistake but that said on paper your in a completely different league.Frankie Gavin wrote:First off all well done last night curtis, an I think the fight will happen curtis is a game strong man but in all seriousness I think he needs a lot more than that we had a bit of banter last night an I don't no why I rised to it cause in my eyes he ent british title level similar to peter mcdonagh just stronger but less experience, I don't think he will have ever been in the ring with someone like me, I know I have marked in fights (always head clashes) an been hit a bit but that's because like someone wrote I have been a big favourite an never gave the fighters the respect maybe I should instead of thinkin I will walk through him but since I went points I ent thinking I need to stop them now. From a selfish point of view this is actually a good thing. Curtis is going to be up against it- and judging by the mentality he's shown on here and in the past- that will mean he'll give it a good go and you'll be on your biggest night yet. I think it will be very entertaining. Best of luck to both of you's.

Re: Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
woodhouse is good at what he does, and to come from football and make such a good start to boxing is an amazing achievment,
saying that tho. hes been put n the deep end in his next fight, he will get such a shock.
i watch frankie train and spar on a regular basis, and hes a freak. iv seen him spar much better fighters than woodhouse and they cant lay a glove on him. woodhouse is game and strong but there is not 1 thing in his locker that he has close to frankie.
cant wait for this fight, just wish it was for a better title but im sure they will come

Re: Bull Vs Woodhouse: thats what I love about boxing
curtis did well against a decent boxer and seems to enjoy the stage. him v steve saville would be a cracking fight. frankie gavin is a couple of leagues above him in terms of ability and experience and should've let curtis enjoy his couple of minutes post fight glory. he shouldn't have bit back. gavin is tasty enough in the ring to let his fists do the talking. (woodhouse does take a shot and keeps on pushing; it'll be a good 6 round fight).

Gavin will have too much in all departments for Woodhouse, who is decent enough but is a couple of levels below Gavin imho. I'd put Woodhouse at fringe British title level at best, whereas we all know Gavin could be knocking on the door of world titles in a couple of years.
