Super Official Important Poll: EVERYONE PLEASE RESPOND

Post by Jeff Thomas »

Hi folks,

I'm really sorry about all my request for information of late, but please trust me that the results of all my enquiries will ultimately lead to a far greater time for British domestic boxing. I've been asked by a boxing Super Power to compile a list of your top ten choices of who you'd like to feature on a Friday Fight Night; Some amazing changes are heading your way but first of all I need to collect as much info as possible.

What i'd like you to do is think long and hard about the top ten British or Irish fighters that you'd most like to see on Friday Fight Night. The choices need to be realistic and in order of preference, so for example my top ten would look something like this;

1. Frankie Gavin
2. David Price
3. George Groves
4. Rendall Munroe
5. Kenny Anderson
6. Ryan Rhodes
7. Mathew Macklin
8. John Murray
9. John Simpson
10. Tony Bellew

Please post your top ten as soon as possible...

Thanks Again

Jeff :TU:

Hold the front page - "Irishman in wanting to see Irishmen fight SHOCKER!"

No mention of British guys picking British fighters or Scousers laddening their top ten with Scousers - sheesh! I'll move swiftly along.

1 Frankie Gavin
2 George Groves & James DeGale (leading to one helluva fight - hopefully)
3 Paul McCloskey
4 Tyson Fury
5 John Murray
6 David Price
7 Paul Appleby
8 Ryan Rhodes
9 Rendall Munroe
10 Stephen Smith

Interesting not to see Billy Joe Saunders feature in anyones list, he was originally widely tipped as the am star with a style most conducive to the pro game.

Obviously Katsidis isnt British or Irish, but is perhaps realistic and would certainly have made my list had he met the criteria.

edit: Knew this would happen, I should have put Martin Lindsay in there too!

Didn't Froch say he'd rather retire than fight on the British scene again?

Something along those lines, anyway.

David Price
George Groves
Tony Bellew
Ryan Rhodes
Frankie Gavin
James Degale
Tom Dallas
Darren Barker
Martin Lindsay
Tyson Fury

That list represents the fighters who's progress I'm most interested in for one reason or another, although as far as friday fight nights go, I'd rather see one competitive match-up over all 10 on that list vs no-hopers.

EDIT: When I say competitive match-up, 2 low calibre operators in an even fight which means nothing, is not what I'm after.
