Thanks, was waiting for this!

JLD can box, that's evident, he looked big in there!

Funny seeing Bomber as a fat kid :OhYes: Shows how much he's come on now looking lean but still retaining his power. Can see that his boxing ability has come on leaps and bounds too.

Definately... I love these am vids. JLD is going to be a good fighter if he trains well. Fair enough, he got chinned- shit happens. He looked more impressive then Big Tony there skill wise. No arguing though what a shot from Tony and he's just getting better.

Wow, some brutal KO that was, don't often see that in the ams. I thought Jon L looked excellent in prizefighter, so interesting to see this, and shows what a puncher Tony is. He was getting outboxed handily there, just looking to walk though it, then catches JLD who's stunned enough to think trading punches is a good idea.

jld has pubes now :!:

it was a single punch, but when you see some of the thunderous shots he took prior to the ko,shows the lad's chin wasnt bad.

Dickenson had that fight won easily if he didn't get too involved in a brawl. He played into Bellews hands. Bellew looked a bit clueless in there for a while, as the commentators said. However he got the job done.

Think Dickinson could be one to watch, Maloney will bring him along quietly.

Macca and Hide aside (dont count Ofalobi) I would back Dickinson in 6/12 months to beat any other Cruiserweight in the UK.

BHip: Arguably the best light heavyweight if Hopkins moves up to fight Erdei.

Although not sure he could hang with the elite heavyweights.

He also smashed his head on the canvas when he went down the second time.

That might be one of the best knockouts I have ever seen in amateur boxing. Bellew showed some dynomite in his hands there. As a pro, Bellew has looked far more composed than he did against Dickinson and in better shape. It seems he goes under the radar outside these forums and I'm not sure why. I think he can become Euro champ and possibly even more.

some people talk out the ar$e on here, saying jld was cruising it :!:

what i was seeing was bellew not being able to miss him & was intentionally going for the blow out!!

refs dont score pitter patter in the pro's you could put 3-4 arm shots on a fighter & bang one decent solid shot is what counts & thats what seperates the men from the boys, the ams from the pro's, the pimps from the ho's :!: :DD ...i could go on :OhYes:

I never rated JLD before Prizefighter, but then he showed how good a boxer he was. He really did look classy.

The 2005 ABA'S were superb from a Merseyside perspective.

Nick McDinald v Stephen Smith in the regionals was as tense as anything, Joey Selkirk destroying Sam Webb in the semis before being upset by Brett Flournoy at 69kg, Bellew getting off to a bad start before eating his way through the rest of the opposition.

The finals were superb too. I remember the Excel was booked in advance as organisers expected Amir Khan to be performing but he withdrew over ticket allocation in an earlier round. Him and Jamie Cox couldve been very interesting. Instead, Cox got Michael Grant and it was the fight of the night, James Degale won his first ABA title and Bellew laid Dickinson out with the greatest punch Ive seen from ringside.
